Jon Sinclair FWPro used to work for him along with Tyler Ferrell. Jon is top notch is a leader in 3D stuff and does lots of interesting stuff. Jon's taught tour players (even caddied for them) and has done lots of presentations at different seminars, coach camps etc. Has one of the most extensive 3D libraries on pros. Bit closer than Micheal Martin.

On a podcast the other day, Jon said he'd given up "day-to-day" teaching and planned to focus only on his tour players and college players for long term instruction. Don't know the whole story, just repeating what he said.

Where are you located "North Texas" (closer to FW or closer to Dallas) or does it matter as long as it's somewhere in the large geographical DFW area?

Prefer more scientfic feedback approach with things like Trackman, etc..........or, do you prefer old fashioned instruction with verbal feedback only?

Do you prefer indoor or outdoor instruction?

Does your teacher have to be a state or nationally ranked teacher or are you open to someone who may be a good instructor but isn't as "known" as some of the ranked ones?

Roughly what is your skill level? (Some "ranked" teachers pass higher handicaps down to their assistants or other instructional members, some love to teach all different skill levels)?

Do you have a price range that you're open to paying?

Give me some answers to those questions and I can give some suggestions. I've had lessons and/or know and have played with a good number of instructors in DFW over the past 35 years.

I was curious and went to his web site first open lesson time from him is June 20th. And he has plenty of open times afterward. I know Scott Hamilton stopped seeing folks other than pros and college players but appears Jon is still booking anyone.

I'm closer to Dallas but someone in the larger DFW geographical would be okay.

Don't mind seeing Trackman numbers but I'm more of an old-fashion guy who generally goes by what I see the ball doing.

Prefer outdoor instruction.

Does not have to be a nationally known instructor.

High single digit handicap index.

Low 100's is pretty much the max price range for me.

It was a on golf podcast called Golf 360 in mid May. Just listened to it again and he actually says he is in the middle of converting his teaching to a long-term model where either the amateur or the mini tour or tour player agrees to a half day or full day lesson and a long term plan. Said he had been doing hourly lessons 7 days a week for 340+ days a year and it had prevented him from getting to projects like videos and things that he wanted to try. Said he might continue doing an hourly lesson with some of his holdovers from years past. You probably know better than me as it sounds like you've worked with him before. I was just relaying what he says on the podcast.

If you live South of Downtown or south of Dallas - Thomas Devanna - Tangle Ridge Golf Course (Grand Prairie/Cedar Hill border) -- great player too. One of the better golfers in the NTPGA

North of Downtown -- Jeb Stuart - believe he's at Pure Swing Golf, which is an indoor facility, but he will likely do outdoors with you if that's what you prefer; played in tour events and on the Euro Sr. Tour. Great player.

North of Downtown -- Billy Beverly or Brian Coe at Highlands Performance Golf Center (used to be Gold Bear.......off Trinity Mills). Both are very patient and very good at illustrating points.

Central Dallas Area -- Brooks Muse at Luna Vista Golf Course (the old LB Houston). Very easy going, relaxed. Know several people who have taken lessons and been very complimentary of his teaching. Definitely in your price range.

East Dallas/Mesquite -- Tony Martinez, the head pro at Keeton Park. Great guy. Great personality. Very patient and excellent at breaking down the swing into easy to understand components.

Richardson/Garland area -- Rick Woodson -- Not 100% sure Rick is still teaching for the public as I haven't run into him in the past few months. He has several highly ranked male and female amateurs and I had heard he might go full time instructing/caddie for one of the young ladies from Oklahoma St. that is either on the Symetra Tour or LPGA now. He is also a heck of a player himself (played on the equivalent of the Korn Ferry Tour years ago). He teaches outdoors and is very Trackman driven. Super nice guy. Call Sherrill Park and they can tell you if he's still teaching. He was teaching there after moving over from Woodbridge a few years ago.

Frisco/McKinney - Chad Moscovic - Great player and great teacher. Another one of the very good golfers in the NTPGA. Only issue is that he's moved to Stonebridge Ranch, which is private, so I don't know if he's only doing members or if he can also do lessons with non-members. I'd call and check.

Fort Worth area - Although I don't know him personally, Fort Worth Pro always receives rousing reviews from everyone who has taken lessons from him. His name is Michael Martin. I know he also must be a pretty darn good golfer as well because he always does quite well in NTPGA events.

Arlington area -- Chad Williams at Tierra Verde. I've seen him give lessons before when he was at Sherrill Park a few years ago. Very thorough and very good at explaining swing positions, ball flight, etc. Also a very good player himself.

All of these guys should be within the price range you specified, although a couple of them might require you to sign up for 3 to 5 lessons to drive the cost per hour to the approximate $100/hr. rate. The one I don't know is Fort Worth Pro, so perhaps if he sees this post he'll PM you with his prices if he is taking new students.

I could list a whole lot more but this is a good list with which to start! Hope this helps!

BTW, there are probably several really good instructors at the various GolfTec's or at Hank Haney's. The only reason I didn't list them is that: a) I'm not a personal fan of Golftec's primary teaching which focuses on you getting to "tour" averages on everything from hip turn, forward movement, etc.........; b) same with Haney's guys, who are mostly method teachers IMHO through experience of taking lessons with several over the years. I have no doubt they all probably know their craft well, it's just a personal preference on my part.
