Maxfli is now associated with cheap walmart balls so I think it would be a terrible idea. Srixon has play on tour and the US is becoming more and more familiar with it. If they get a good woods line

I think it would be a bad idea. Better to stay under the Srixon name. Maxfli isn't as respected as it used to be.

If they get a good woods line and sign a player or two they would be a top 5 brand. I think Cleveland wedges need to move over underneath Srixon and Cleveland clubs go away. Like Titleist/Vokey

Sumitomo has never had any affiliation with Maxfli. Dunlop Slazenger sold Maxfli including all IP to TaylorMade in 2003. Then TaylorMade sold the Maxfli trademarks only (except for Noodle) to Dicks Sporting Goods in 2008 (hence the reason why Maxfli are pretty much only found at DSG/Golf Galaxy). Sumitomo did not acquire Dunlop until 2017.

I think the parent companies have comparable market caps but Sumitomo is more diversified. I don’t think either reports glandular detail for their respective golf businesses but my guess is that they are likely run as independent businesses and that they do not have the wallet open for the relatively low revenue that the golf businesses bring in.

Both own their own factories and control the entirety of the production process (as does Acushnet).

I assume you mean poor, but that has not been my experience. I find them very durable. The matte finish gets dirty quickly, but I find that true with all the matte balls I have played and no longer play matte. But the white gloss has been very durable.

Maxfli was a great ball through the 80s and up until the Revolution ball in the mid 90s. Then that was it. Close to 25 years since anyone put that ball in play in a tour event. Fred Couples and Hal Sutton played the Maxfli Revolution and that was it.

SRI doesnt own the rights to the Maxfli name anymore, DSG now owns it. Even if they did, I dont think they would do better with the Maxfli name. Maxfli used to make some of the best balls around but the line was cheapened up and they have lost all the respect that they once had.

The Maxfli balls that DSG sells are actually quite good. Ive been using the Softfli so far this year and they work well.

IMO what Srixon really needs to do is just market themselves and find a top pro whom they can sponsor and who can win with their gear. They have some good players on their staff but no one who I would really call a top pro.

Been loving the Maxfli tour ball since DSG launched it in 2019. Started playing it since before it scored high on the famous golf ball test of last year. I only hope they don't discontinue it. It's really a great ball for the price. I think they are 2 for $45 right now.
