Not sure. Possibly a set from the custom department or tour van. My set had the stamping.

I believe those have been refinished. Could they be combo of 962`s & 962B`s?

Your set looks like the 1996 962B's due to the ribbed features in the cavity.

FIrst year they made 962 and 962B and they had no stampings. I'm positive because I loaned my no stamped set to 2006 Remax Senior World Long Driver champ that had them stolen out of his car. When I ordered a replacement set, they had 962 stampings late that year of 1996.

I just picked up a set 1-PW and plan to put back into play the 2, 4-PW bending the irons to match today's loft standard.  I'm bending the 2 iron 1.5 degrees weak to match a current 3 iron loft so this will add a little bit of bounce to the long iron.  I will use a spare used set of Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 stiff shafts.  We'll see how these play.

@RobotDoctor Beautiful!  I have a combo set of 962/962Bs sitting on the workbench.  Fantastic clubs!  Please let me know how the bending goes, I’ve always wanted to bend mine a bit but was too nervous they would be too hard to bend.  I’d love to hear how your project works out, please keep us posted.

Also, definitely jealous of you having the 1 & 2 for the set, that just adds to the cool factor!

As well as being a golf club, I believe that the 1 iron also doubles up as a butter knife.

I believe I will leave the 1 iron retired and work with a 2 iron.

Having played various sets of 962b since 1997, I would not recommend strengthening the lofts. While they bend relatively easily enough, since made from 431 stainless,  decreasing loft will increase offset and reduce bounce slightly, both of which, in my opinion- reduce some of the key features that make these irons so appealing  and well-regarded. The change in center of gravity throughout the set tends to make the irons not lose as much distance via loft increase as one would think as first glance. Since you have an affinity for Apex 99, I know you understand of what I speak👍🏻😃

Great stuff, thank you!  I’m going the other way, increasing the loft 2 degrees on 5-P and 1.5 on the 4, while keeping the 3i the same.  It will be exactly what I play in my Apex Pros, just one club weaker.  How would you feel about that bend?

I definitely think that could be an interesting experiment and could check a lot of boxes that suit my preferences, sort of a Vijay tweaked Mizuno-esque move👍🏻
