2 ball backstryke apparently it didn’t have toe hang or face balance so not sure what kind of stroke to use with it

Gotta be the Affinity BuzzSaw Power Spin wedge. Came with my first complete set of clubs from Dick’s Sporting Goods in 2003. The face doesn’t have grooves, but has a “pegged” face that is like the most rough sand paper ever made out of metal. Completely destroys a cover in one shot. My friends would always want to take turns spinning a ball from the back of the green off the front.

Haven’t hit that club in a decade... gonna have to throw it in the bag for a chuckle this week.

Probably not the worst clubs ever, but clubs I hit and immediately disliked or couldn't get on with:

Callaway FT-IQ square driver

Sonartec TRC hybrid (loved the FW woods, but couldn't hit these to save my life)

Nakashima NP-1 driver - couldn't get it in the air

Callaway PM Grind 58 - couldn't do anything with it

Despite the accolades, I never could try a Sonartec. Because of the name. What the heck does Sonar technology have to do with golf?

It helps you find and recover it when you get mad at it and throw it in the pond. Pretty advanced stuff for the time really.

They felt like an old wood headed club, but in a modern package. It's was strangely satisfying. Everything today smokes it.

One of the best players I have ever known balled the eff out in high school with the VAS irons with the double diamond purple graphite. 1-PW with no 3 wood.The Titleist 962B were garbage. Fight me.

My "worst" clubs havent really been the clubs its been buying used equipment. I got a set of p790's that were supposed to be standard length and standard lie and they were + 1/2 inch 2 degrees upright and hard stepped shafts. After getting them cut down to standard and the lies reajusted the swing weight felt extremely light and they were terrible. Couldent make good contact for the life of me. Took 100 loss a week later and sold them rather than have them all rebuilt which would have cost a few hundred. Im now really cautious buying used, sometimes you just dont know what you are going to get.

Scotty Cameron putter. I have a Newport. Putted well with it on practice green on trial day so got it. Tried all the range actually. No feel. Milled face is way to hard and I can only putt with it on slower greens. All they hype on quality Is just that. The linishing/ grinding of the ends was way off and the grind line from sole of putter to the round end was 45deg and always annoyed me. Looked like it was a Friday putter. Anyway it’s in the spare bag.

Say what you will about Maltby MPF ratings, but it's interesting that the Cleveland VAS is rated NEGATIVE 197! Holy smokes!

My dad often fell for the "As Seen On TV" clubs.....he had the Fiberflex Driver and 3w, the Armor Piercing woods, the diamond face wedges...... all rubbish.

Interesting the original RBZ Hybrid was not their best but the replacement RBZ Stage 2 Tours were easily one of their most successful Hybrid going back to the old Rescues. There are swarms of them still in play everywhere. The best since then for the better players are the latest SIM Max models and frankly TM really didn't expect the acceptance by really good players or even the total market. After the initial production run, they had to rush a lot more into production as there ended up a lag time to get them even in the era of Covid which really killed a lot of spring play.

Tour Edge 1 out sand wedge....horrible! They should have made it more clear that the club is VERY heavy.

"Heavy sole puts maximum weight below the ball for easy launch".....doesn't make it exactly clear. Yes, easy launch when you skull it across the green.

Tommy Armor Ti100 irons. Gigantic shovels made of titanium that had a very high COG and awful sole design that made them impossible to hit.

The original TM Rescue hybrid. The head was the size of an 8802 Wilson Putter and it had the shaft of a 5 wood. The ball might go 230 or 30, i traded it for a carry bag.

Wilson Cortex and Triton. Just the worst main stream drivers i've ever seen.

Titleist 907 D2. Thing basically flew like a 5 iron for me and felt like hitting a marshmallow on a stick.

Cleveland Launcher 400. The one with the gold colored shaft, that thing was a POS.

Ping S59 irons. Most unforgiving irons I've ever tried including multiple sets of blades. Felt like pure ass too when you hit them. Sold after one range session. No idea what I was thinking when I bought them.

TaylorMade Speedblade irons. Very weird flights and would have some shots fly 15 extra yards for no reason. The irons with the slots in the bottom felt like crap and make a weird clicking sound. Thought I could benefit from some game improvement irons but I was horribly wrong.

Callaway Forged+ wedges from like 2004? I had a 54 and 60 and they both went the same exact distance on full shots and I couldn't get used to them around the green. On the other hand, the original X-Forged wedges that came out after these were my favorite wedges ever.

This will be unpopular but for me it's the TM V-Steel 3 wood I had. Bought it on a whim and carried it for a couple of years and could never get a feel for it. I'm sure a shaft change could have fixed things, but back then I wasn't much into tinkering.

Worst clubs I ever swung were my first set of clubs. They were powerbilt butter knife blades (c. 1960) that I got from good will. Terrible set to learn on.

Modern clubs aren't everything but technology certainly has changed.
