Tiger from the 1999 Heritage. Had not run across this shot previously.

Now remember on that fall round we were playing persimmon woods and hitting balata balls into the greens. That was one of those days I darn near would have given my right nut to have had my metal driv

Yeah I think it's been the opposite: Harbor Towne is a bad fit for Tiger's game. Mostly it favors precision play at shorter distances.

I'm glad there was a weather delay as my wife and I were hosting a Father's Day BBQ that afternoon to early evening so I would have missed the finish. Fantastic golf being played down the stretch. Kudos to Ancer, Hatton, Niemann, Berger, and Garcia for keeping the heat on. No one really choked or faltered down the stretch, Webb just happened to be more clutch yesterday. Webb is a fine player but I wonder if the wins would stack up like they have without Paul Tesori as a coach and on the bag. Out of all the player/caddie relationships on Tour, IMO this relationship is the most important to have the player get the most out of their game to translate into wins.

I really couldn't believe how short the rough was. Here in Winston-Salem, NC, our rough is thick and healthy. I know that Harbor Town is a resort course, but it should have been a bit more of a test for the pros. Also, this was the first tournament I ever attended way back in 1985. #15 was a difficult three shot par 5. Now, guys that are not even considered bombers, just take it over the trees, and reach it in two.

That was actually an exciting birdie fest. Webb is a good dude. I'm glad he won.

This was me exactly. I have never really appreciated this course before, due to exactly what you said, post Masters let down, I rarely watched. But what a fantastic course, of course the great field helped. But I'm already looking at booking a trip down there this fall.

It's an amazing stat. He came up with the same group of guys with JT, Spieth, Schauffele, etc... When injuries slowed him he was easy to forget because he's always sort of flown under the radar even before he got hurt. If he can keep that kind of consistency going through the rest of the year it's not hard to imagine him winning a major this year.

Well according to JT, the streets were filled with people lining up for restaurants :)

When we--on other trips--rent a villa or house, we try to make sure it has a grill or at least access to it, as it's a good time to sit round throw some steaks or burgers on the grill and enjoy some beverages. But if a good meal out can be found, we aren't opposed to that as well.

Thanks for the Heads Up

Once you ever play it you will fall in love with it. I have been lucky to play it twice. First time was about this time of the year and like last week the wind was not up bad.The second time I played it I met up with a bunch of guys and we played vintage equipment and this was in the fall. The wind was really up and it ate our lunch playing vintage equipment but still had fun. I think I shot like 95 that day

Great stuff, if you shot 95 in the fall, maybe I better pick a less windy time of year...ha I'm sure it's one of those courses I'd enjoy the experience no mater what my score!

Now remember on that fall round we were playing persimmon woods and hitting balata balls into the greens. That was one of those days I darn near would have given my right nut to have had my metal driver and fairways. Even though all of us scored high it was a fun day. For me personally it is the looks and ambiance of the place plus I love the smell of salt air and marshes. Frankly I would not have given 2 hoots if I had shot 195. Sometimes it ain't about the score and you sit back and enjoy taking it all in.

I live in Sea Pines and get to play HT a couple times a month. I played it yesterday with the Sunday pin placements. The greens were holding and very fast. Lots of trees have been removed and they grassed in some sandy areas on 2,5,6,& 15. I think they went a little too far and made it easier, for tour event. It was in great shape and as always a lot of fun.

The greens were slower and softer than normal. I watched DJ putt downhill from off the green to the front left pin area on 15 during a practice round. He said normally you couldn't keep that putt on the green, but now you couldn't get it to the hole. They had significant challenges getting the bermuda to fill in due to the unseasonable cool weather in the weeks leading up to the tourney. Fortunately it got hot before the tournament and the fairways and greens filled in nicely.
