Is New e6 Softer Than e12 Soft?

Still in quarantine so I’ve been using my Skytrak with Trugolf software (ironically called e6). Played so many awesome courses like Oakmont, Pebble, Pinehurst #2, my green fees would have easily been 5 figures over the past 3 months

Anyway, I’ve used Pro V1’s forever but during a range session on the sim I kept missing the sweet spot with toe hits. As an early 60’s dude that impact hurt my hands and wrists as the club twisted. So...I dug around my golf bag and pulled out an e6. Wow...even toe hits felt like flush impact with little loss in distance. I’ve since played several rounds on the sim with both the Pro V and e6. Honestly...I don’t really see any difference in scoring. Disclaimer...that’s just me, so in no way claiming the old e6 is equal to a Pro V.

I see Bridgestone couldn’t leave well enough alone, so I’m asking if the e12 Soft is as soft as the “new” e6 Soft? I’ve got to order some new Pro V’s from Amazon and need your help in deciding to add a dozen e6’s or 12’s.

Thanks in advance!

I didn't know this, and stocked up on E6's this year.  Is there a good way to tell if I've got the new 3 piece ones without cutting 'em open?

What's In The Bag?

Srixon Z565 Driver, 4W, 4H

Ping G400 5-U

Kirkland Sig Wedges

Odyssey White Hot Putter

Hyundai Equus Alignment Sticks

The box. Here is the current box of the E6 2 piece ball. The previous version of the E6 balls were labeled as E6 Speed and E6 Soft.

The new "e12" (3-piece) is the old "e6" (3-piece)....the new "e6" (2-piece) is the old "extra soft" (2-piece).

The "extra soft" ball didn't sell well but the e6 was very popular so Bridgestone obsoleted the "extra soft" name and gave it the popular "e6" name....then created the new "e12" which really isn't new at all.

This is interesting and helpful, as the old e6 was one of my favorite balls. Great performance at that price point. I shied away from those lines after they split the e6 into two separate balls, maybe I'll have to check out the e12.
