The picture I saw was the opposite of what's posted above. Maybe True Temper will post and clarify.

Actually I hope this graph is right because I would love an updated PX Flighted even if it's called LS or whatever.

This interesting and would say that the shaft has a stiffer butt section but softer tip.

@nova6868 I trust the info from S3 fitting software that @Poolparty is using above a little more than the info from golf shaft reviews. Makes more sense that the tip on the LS would be stiffer, not softer. It's possible Russ got the labeling backwards on his chart. Just a guess

I don't think he got the labels wrong -- the PX still looks right to me. It's the LS that looks off. This isn't IMO a flighted set, but it is more flighted than standard PX so it could have to do w the shaft he chose to use in his graphic. S3 used the 38.5 inch shaft which I believe is the 7 iron. If GSR used the 6 iron their will be some discrepancies. Also with S3 you see a bigger percentage of the shaft, GSR is really only the middle. The 6 inches of the tip and 8-10 inches of the butt are usually cut off but with S3 it's only like 5 inches and 2 inches. I guess that's why it's 800x the price of GSR. I agree w you that it would be strange to design a lower launching shaft that is softer throughout except a stiff butt. That says higher launching to me.

Golf shaft reviews may have there labels backwards on the profile chart, but these are flighted compared to regular project x.  They probably had to do it to make the long irons playable

I don't think we should be calling them flighted unless you also consider X100s flighted. The stiffness range is higher than standard PX but it's no different than Dynamic Golds

After another round with the 7.0 soft stepped, I think they will be coming out shortly. I love the performance but my old man elbows just don’t like them. 2-9 iron shafts plus 3 wedge shafts will be looking for a new home sooner than later.

@TrueTemper what are your recommendations on soft stepping these? Since each shaft is specifically designed for a particular iron, would soft stepping or soft stepping twice mess up performance or lead to the shaft not performing as designed?

Also interested in knowing this. Just told my local shop to order me a 3-PW set, want to SS1X.

Thank you, friend.

Alas... I am one of the few GolfWRX patrons whom lacks the skill to play blades.

There will also be a cavity back iron as well with a tungsten weight in the back for swingweight adjustability, the stock shaft in that is the px IO, I’m sure you can get the LS in it at no up charge.

I thought I would like the cavity back and the IO shaft better but I preferred the feel of the blade and the LS shaft. The LS shaft did not feel boardy at all I hit a 6.0 stiff, I’m normally 5.5 guy.

I have the 6.0 LS in my 7 iron now. Hit 2 shots with it last night. Hard to say much but the shaft feels softer than my DG S300. Most of that prob has to do with 10 grams lighter but I felt a little more flex.
Very inconclusive since only 2 shots but I think I gained a little distance in the air.
I’m a high spin player because I’m too steep. Usually my approach shots stick, my divot is usually no more than a couple inches away from the ball. These shots had a tad more rollout but I think the distance was gained in the air. My shots didn’t just fall out of the sky. Who knows... I’ll do some proper testing soon

So not to sound ridiculous, will these be coming out in 7.0s?

Yeah they will be 130g version. The 6.5 will be 125g and 6.0 120g I believe. Interesting to see if guys like Rory and Rahm will switch and if they go 6.5 or 7.0 on these

Man, Rory already hits everything to the moon. Can't imagine he'd want a flighted set in the long irons that go even higher. I believe he switched from the X ball in the hopes of lowering ball flight already. Rahm, on the hand, I could definitely see being interested.

From what I hear on the ole WRX it sounds like you just need to get fit. You'll be ripping 200 yard 8 irons with 12,000 rpm spin in no time!

Extra height in the long irons never hurt anybody lol. Honestly though, I can’t imagine the long irons flight THAT much higher than traditional PX

I hear ya, but If he was going to make the move he would've done it when he put the P7MBs in the bag. I'm sure he tested other shafts with the new heads.

I just installed some PX 6.5 LS shafts in my T100’s. I soft stepped them one time and love the playability and feel so far. I’ve had elbow issues with regular 6.5’s In the past and usually play c taper 130x ss1x with no issue. These guys at D4 feel a lot like c taper to me and with NO elbow issues after 5 rounds. Needless to say I’ve been happily surprised and they look pretty sharp to boot. They’re more stout feeling “to me” than the Ctaper 125’s , less so than the normal PX 6.5’s but almost feel identical to me as the Ctaper 130’s ss1x with maybe a little softer tip. I’m not the fastest guy ,but a fairly quick swinger with a more steep AOA than I’d prefer sometimes and quick-ish tempo.  I’ve gained a lot of confidence since putting this combo in the bag just a short few rounds. All that jibberish to say this , If you’re on the fence but like PX and Ctaper-ish feel, don’t give up on trying this lineup.

Me too. When all

my satin sets ran out I went the normal chrome route for a while, just had elbow issues unfortunately. Took a break for a bit with um , then gamed the blackout regular PX but still elbow issues. Enter the new LS and that seems to be gone for me. Thought I may have to use dowels or inserts , but didn’t have to.
I don’t see a difference in the flight and to my eye is in the same exact window , short and long irons. Only difference is these just launch a bit easier (not higher for me)and still flatten out pretty quick. Knockdowns seem more easily achievable than what I remember with the regular 6.5’s too. Hope this helps.

Best,

Jason

Are you guys seeing this anywhere that might have it on their fitting cart?  I've called both True Spec and Club Champion only to tell me they don't have them in yet.  I want to get a full set but I don't want to commit before I try them.
