Cobra Taking extra long for custom clubs?

Has anyone ordered custom cobras recently and had it take extra long? I ordered a set of Forged Tecs through my local fitter May 18th , on their website they say 10-14 days but we're at something like 23 working days since the order should have went in. I have contacted the fitter and they haven't been able to tell me anything, cobra says they can't look up my order since it was through the fitter. Just wanted to see if it's fairly normal for them with the quarantine and what not.

While I can't comment on Cobra specifically, in another thread we were discussing Titleist lead times being backed up. I reached out to Titleist and they told me 2-3 weeks, but another member just finally had his irons ship after 5 weeks so I don't know if they really know right now lol. I'd plan on a good 4-6 weeks for most companies and then another week or so to get to you. I realize you are about to start week 5 so hopefully they have them out soon. Your fitter should have that info, I know when I ordered my hybrid through Ping the company that ordered it could call Ping and get the status with their account id and such. Might be an option. I ordered an F9 Tour FW on 5/11 or 5/12. I got it a week ago. Seemed to take awhile, I assumed it was due to COVID, it did take a week for shipping from CA to VT via fed ex.

Took about three weeks for my custom order. I was surprised as I thought I’d see it in July.

The fitter has told me they would reach out but then I don't hear anything. Was just trying to get a sanity check, but it seems that it's fairly normal across the industry. thanks!

I just ordered a set of mizuno irons and my club guy was told 2-3 weeks which seems to be what several companies are quoting. Though I think Mizuno started back up a little bit before most companies did so they've had a little more time to work through the back log.

call customer service. I I ordered a 3w w/ ventus black literally the same day as you may 18th... I just talked to someone on the phone yesterday and he said it looks like my order was simply overlooked bc they have so many orders to catch up to. He expedited the order to hit the floor yesterday and is doing overnight shipping.

That's what I'm afraid of and the guys I ordered from have been super unhelpful other than saying "oh yeah things are backed up due to COVID" yeah I know but at least tell me a response from cobra saying yes we have it and it will be another xxx days

Ordered a custom F9 driver and fairway on 5/22 and it was delivered last week. Besides COVID they’ve also been pretty backed up with the Memorial Day sale purchases when I contacted them a few weeks ago.

Same here - ordered an F9 driver, called customer service and they overnighted it to me as soon as it was built. Took about 3.5 weeks to get it

Basically EVERYTHING golf related shut down for like 2-3 months, so I'm not exactly sure on things taking 'extra long' when this shouldn't be anything other than completely expected. 3 month shut down + still accepting custom orders while not fulfilling anything to create a massive backlog + over burdened shipping companies = reality.

Certain parts are back ordered. I ordered a set of forged tecs around the same time you did and I was told the shafts are not projected to come in until the end of the month. The rep did say they are going to overnight my irons once they’re built, which is nice.

Believe me I understand the backlog of shipments on a lot of things, as I work in a manufacturing company that has been hamstrung quite a bit. they quote on their site that custom shipments are 10-14 days. If they said custom shipments are 6-10 weeks I'd be less likely to say it's extra long than when I'm much beyond the 10-14 days. Hence why I posted to see others experiences here.

I don't believe their custom club division ever shut down, but they were on a reduced staff, so yes, orders were still flowing, just at a reduced rate. And yes, Cobra can't give you info about the order since it was placed w/ a retailer. It shouldn't be that hard for the retailer to call and get an estimated ship date. Having said that, I'd probably just wait it out, I'm sure you'll get it within the next few weeks. And I'd maybe use a different retailer in the future since it sounds like they can't be bothered to check on the status of an order...

i ordered a set of king forged tecs with Dynamic gold 120 and tour velvet aligns on memorial day weekend through their website and they were delivered last friday. I played with them last weekend. The build was great and they feel perfect

Because a ton of golf purchases are impulse purchases, so telling someone 6-10 weeks would likely result in a canceled order. Part of it is that they likely have no clue at all how long things will take to get back going to full capacity, so one guess is as useless as another. Was the quote on their site updated at all, was there a covid warning about delays on it? Pretty well everywhere has had these, so my guess is that they did a poor job of updating things if they didn't have this up.

 

Given how areas are now magically increasing in cases, tho likely under reported (no one at all ever saw that coming with opening up early with poor testing overall and still denying things), who knows what is going to happen in the next few months.

I was quoted 4-6 weeks when I ordered mine mid May.

Got them after about 3 1/2 weeks.

They're running a skeleton crew.....

Golf companies like Cobra and Titleist are based in Carlsbad. All their custom builds are done in Mexico, so with the Covid 19 precautions, there will be some longer than usual delays. It also has to go thru customs back to Carlsbad before it ships.

Their site now says 7-10 days for custom orders, I'm assuming this is a lie. I was planning on ordering something, perhaps next year instead. Nothing so urgent needed this year to give them a few hundred dollars and wait until sometime in August, especially here in the Midwest.

I had a warranty claim for my F9 driver head may 23rd. They sent me a fed ex return label and said they will ship me a new driver head. They never sent me any shipping info so I called customer service tuesday and he told me Fed Ex will deliver by the end of the day Thursday. Since I was driving I couldnt write down tracking info. But of course I didnt get it yesterday and Cobra golf is closed today for JuneTeeenth. So now I dont know whats going on. Fingers still crossed. Saw a fed ex truck drive by a few minutes ago but he didnt stop at my House.
