It was initially hard to check the ego but the inner-club-ho and inner-club-tinkerer won out, lol. Game has been a lot more consistent now the last year or two with all the headcovers in the bag. I still get crap from playing partners but it's about making shots as easy as possible. Playing partner's will have an even bigger chuckle if I ever decide to go all hybrids or woods (sounds like it'll be a fun backup bag for casual screwin' around outings).

37 years old. 3 Hybrids currently in the bag, 4-5-6 hybrid.

I could tell stories about this guy all day long. We lost one of our foursome and another one of the guys brought him into the group. I put up with this guy for as long as I could. I made it the first season with this guy and by the second month the next year I through him out of the group. No one liked him but I was the only one that couldn't stand him. It's been 5 yrs since I through him out of our group and he has since moved out of state. The guys still make jokes about him and say they miss our classic battles of arguing.

One time he does his sermon in a golf shirt and shorts and mentions that his sermon is going to be short because he has an earlier than usual tee time.

One time playing for pocket change he loses $4.90 to me and says all he has is a $5 bill or he would pay me but since I didn't have change. I tell him I have 10 cents in my console of my truck and he says well since you don't have it here and he never pays me. A CLASSIC DOUCHE BAG.. You would think I'm making this up..

I made a couple great shots with my hybrids today, both over water and about the same distance at about 180 yards. My 5 hybrid did the job as I stuck the first one to about eight feet and the second one to about 12 ft. What made them great was they were over water which can be very intimidating. I have more confidence going over water with hybrids then I do with irons.

I'm 35 and don't carry a hybrid or a fairway wood. I have a driver, a 16 degree U510 utility iron, then a 3, 4, 5, etc... irons. Works for me!

I'm 68 and am have 1 hybrid- a Ben Hogan VKTR 4 at 21*. I have a VKTR 17* but I ended up not using it very much so I swapped it out for a 5W which is a much more useful club for me.

I was lucky enough to get the hybrids from a GRX giveaway and I was so happy with the results the 4 stayed in my bag. I had some Ping and TM hybrids that were all way too hooky for me. I can move the VKTR both ways pretty consistently and don't suffer from hooks. I can still hit my 5i without any problems so I'm not looking to replace it. I play 2-3 times a week and practice at least once a week.

49 and have an 18* and a 22*. At one time I played driver and 1-LW. Been a lower single digit handicapper for a long time. I sometimes put a bunch of lead tape on the toe to keep from hooking it, but love their versatility.

i’m 97 and don’t carry an hybrid. i still stroke my 1 iron pure, long and straight. long enough i don’t even carry a driver. can’t stand the look of head covers in the bag. a sign of weakness if you ask me.

my son, who is 18, only carries up to a 9 iron. the rest are hybrids, woods, and whatever. he is obviously adopted.

I am 28. Top of my bag goes

driver

14° 3 wood

18° driving iron

19° hybrid

5 iron

the course I usually play is tree lined and long. Even though it’s only one degree of difference the driving iron and hybrid have very different shots for me, and each get used each round. If I’m playing a shorter course that isn’t as tight, I’ll take the driving iron out and put my 4 iron in. It’s an experiment that has payed off so far. I have more confidence in irons or hybrids then I do in fairway woods.

WITB TBD for ‘24

54. Currently I have zero hybrids. But I carry a 3,5,7 wood or a 4 iron. I own a couple of 4 hybrids and a couple of 3 hybrids. I feel like I have to change my swing to hit them well, so I am going to try to resist the temptation of using them this year. I do like one for punching out of the rough now and again, I like the 4 iron for punching out of the trees. But the woods work so much better for me from the fairway or light rough.
