Ping Moonlite Organization

Recommended Posts

Wasn’t getting along with my Stitch SL1, so I sold it off and bought a Moonlite. It’s so freaking comfortable (great strap(s), slim, and balances well).

trying to figure out the best way to organize and thought I’d reach out to other Moonlite lovers. So far, I’m using the side mesh pocket for my rangefinder, balls in the small pocket on the other side, and using the largest pocket for everything else including gloves and a drawstring bag with tees, ball marker, divot tool, etc.. Then I throw my wallet, phone and key in the inner mesh pocket.

Is that the standard set up, or is there another way that makes more sense? Thanks!

So, I just purchased the new moonlite and there's actually a lot of room for a Sunday bag. I just used it for 15 holes yesterday and really like the bag. Coming from a Seamus and MacKenzie golf bag I'm used to this style of bag but I found the moonlite to almost have too much room. I barely have anything in the largest pocket at all. I also play 12 clubs as my standard set and I had no issues with club tangle. Seamus bag is still my favorite but this one is gonna get used more often because most of my rounds are early mornings and that waterproof belly is gonna be needed. Again though I was amazed by the amount of pocket volume left.

Anyone use trestle sticks with their Moonlite? The only negative I’ve noticed so far is that even with the upright strap, it does tend to hurt my back lifting after each shot. I have two herniated lumbar disks.

I feel your pain!! Had my L5-S1 done a few years ago, but I find the Moonlite strap easy to pick up- use iron or putter to raise the strap up and it’s an easy lift. I am walking again, and feels that it helps my back - key for me is keeping the bag light- bare necessities- 12 clubs, and a minimum of balls, a few tees, car keys and some sunscreen for my pasty Irish skin.

Is the moonlight rigid enough to occasionally put on a golf cart or push cart? I'd like it to be my only bag.

I dont think so, I have an older moonlite.  love the bag, but without a full spine it always droops down on a cart. Wish it had a full spine.

On the rare occasions i ride... i slip the handle onto the bag rack.  Just kind of carefully rotate the bag to slip the rack thru the bag handle.  Then i strap the bag in Keeps it upright and no problems

can you share your thoughs on the MacKenzie versus Moonlite? i almost went with MacKenzie Nylon but after the adreline, just couldn't fork out 5 bills for a golf bag, went with a moonlite and no complaints at all.

6 balls in the mesh pocket, tees/marker/pitchfork other small bits in the small pocket, ping valuables sleeve in the big pocket and a drawstring bag for bits and still leaves room to stuff a gillet or jumper in.

Decent sunday bag with a great strap system!

just need to find or make some trestle legs!

Well, I actually have two MacKenzies now and the moonlite is gone.  I liked the moonlite a lot, but I love my MacKenzies.  Just something about them.

As far as function of the bags, the moonlite is fine.  I just liked the fact that the MacKenzies were structured and were just that much more premium if you will.  My moonlite started getting a couple of wear spots after just one seasons use, which I didn't like.  The MacKenzies are both holding up great with no signs of wear at all.

Sounds silly too, but with fewer dividers I get much less tangle, so the MacKenzies had less club tangle hassles than the Moonlite did.  Don't know how that magic works, but that's been my experience with it.
