Without ever seeing or hitting them, I’m pretty sure if the ZX7 had a little less offset and a thinner top line, they would be the perfect iron. Despite those 2 gripes, I don’t think I’m going to be able to resist.

Yeah if you don't get too worked up over those things I'm positive you'll love them. My Z 785s are just about the same and I love them, especially with the v-sole. Absolute butter when you hit it right in the sweet spot.

Thanks for the report.  I'm really interested in these as replacements for my 565s.  My only concern is the body construction seems to be conducive to a slightly harsher/clickier feel than the previous 5 series.  Love everything about my 565s except the Nippon 980GH shafts.   They launch just a bit too high for me.  On windy days here in Texas, it feels hard to keep the ball down. But on a calmer day the ball just sails and just drops and sticks.

Already had the 58 CBX2, just added the 50. Nearly an idiot-proof wedge. When I’m out on the course and under the gun, that’s when I really appreciate them. The perfect complement to the Srixons.

I have always appreciated a little offset. My 7+ year old Apex Hot Pro's have the perfect amount (AW excluded; it looks like it belongs in a different set). 

 

The ZX7's in 6-AW have my attention for sure.

Been seeing/hearing lots of different dates. People on here have been saying January. When I got fit a couple weeks ago the fitter said last he heard he would have them in December. Ian at TXG (in Toronto) just today said they will have them to test in a few weeks, although that doesn’t mean they’ll be able to sell them right away.

Actually all 3 of those could very well be  accurate 

TXG has them to test to be ready for a December Embargo, followed shortly by pre orders to be delivered to retail in January. 
 

Just speculating.

Brief update. Got out to the range this morning abt 53* and range balls.. And not the PGA range ball variety. Also working on rebuilding my grip (reverse overlap). 

 

The 5s are good.

 

No idea what sound Newton hated, but was no issue to me. There seems to be a bit more offset compared to my 565/765 combo I came from and from memory, they frame the ball a bit better to my eye. 

 

As mentioned, the grip and lack of practice meant I wasn't flushing at all. That said, they are really forgiving. Even bad shots went in the area I intended them to. Being honest, at first I was like these chunky monkeys are no better than my 565/765. But after a bucket, I changed my tune. 

 

If you are a consistent swinger, I don't think these are that much of any upgrade over the 565 or 585. But if you're not and need more help, these were Def more forgiving. I had exactly 0 pulls or pushes with them. 

 

The most surprising aspect, I could tell where they struck the face. If I got a toe.. I knew it was toe. Same for the heel. Pretty surprising as I've played every iteration of srixon and these had feedback I'd expect from the forged blades.and yet.. They still landed in the same general area. 

 

I won't get into feel too much as again.. Hitting rocks. But once I groved a swing, i was able to compress a few and had that marshmallow feel that makes a man grin. 

 

Very happy about getting them. I'm a cheapskate and never have paid retail. Though I found a 10% discount code from golfsupport, so technically I didn't pay full price. Regardless... zero regrets. The plan is to game this bag next year, rotate the 425 max in the following year, and then reassess Irons and Wedges in 23.. 

 

And the cbx2.. Wow.. Why didn't I move to these earlier...

One thing for Left Handed golfers is will a 4 iron be offered or is Srixon forcing you to get a driving iron? I have posted this months ago and someone commented with a PDF that a 4 iron will be available for lefties. HOWEVER, if i go on the UK site for the ZX7's no 4 iron is being offered and a shop I spoke with here in the states when quoting me a price only quoted me for 5-PW.

This personally will bother me and likely get me to not buy the ZX7's. I had a set of 785's for majority of the year and the 4 iron was the best 4 iron out IMO. It looked fantastic and was so easy to hit. I get their numbers/sales/etc. support switching it up on lefties, but at least Mizuno gave lefties a 4 iron option with the set (SEL models of MP and now JPX).

So do you or anyone know what the release will be for the US? I called Srixon and they said they could not tell me which I understand but I hate not knowing.

I'm in Australia - so no idea of the US release dates.  From what I have read, it seems like the US release will be Jan 2021, but could possibly be a bit earlier.  Covid has messed up supply chains for many products all around the world, so I am not sure there is any certainty at the moment

Such a weird way they're doing the release compared to other companies. It's definitely building some suspense, just weird to see them floating around so much but for them to still be so quiet about it.

I have seen a few sets in local shops here in Australia. Both irons look very good, but unfortunately none of the sets I have seen included a Gap Wedge.

 

Has anyone seen them yet, or are there any photos floating around of them?

I just hit the new zx utility yesterday and it looked so much better than u85.  The shaft in it was too light so hard to tell Performance . Definitely looking forward to hitting the 20/21 degree this winter.

I don’t mind the look of any of the previous models, but I do agree the zx looks great in hand. When I got fit a few weeks ago the fitter had just received the new 2 iron and had me hit it with a Nippon GOST shaft. Launched high and far without much effort.

I have seen the gap wedge. It is more blade iron. No cavity.

That's quite unfortunate. I was hoping the gap wedge matched the irons, as I use it as an iron, not a wedge.
