5 series, 7 series or z-forged series gap wedge? Which one are you referring to?
Apologies if I missed it in an earlier post.

Just to confirm what QuigleyDU was posting. I was in the local golf shop today, and the new Srixons are on display (I'm in Japan). The Zx7s have a blade A and S wedge, which I think continues a tradition started with the Z725s. The ZX5s have a A wedge (gap wedge) which looks pretty much identical to the rest of the ZX5 irons.

I think the ZX7 A wedge was 51* and the Sand wedge 57*. The Japanese Srixon site tells me the ZX5 A-wedge is 50* and there is also a 56* SW, though the US release for the ZX5 and ZX7 may be different.

Got this little beauty in a few days ago. Paired with Modus GOST X shaft. Haven’t given it a go yet but it sure looks NICE!!

Here’s some more pics compared to my 785 4 iron. Can see it’s much closer in size, sole width, and top line. It’s definitely a better looking club than the U85, and the U85 is no slouch.

It does not, but it is thinner and should be more playable from the fairway/rough than previous iterations. Unfortunately I have not had the chance to hit it, although I should be able to this weekend.

Thanks.

I would have liked to play a U85 but it was just too ugly. I'm gaming a Cobra Forged Tec 3i in that slot because it's got a narrower sole than the utility. From your picture it looks very similar to the ZX.

Coming from Ping G400s  would I expect to lose a lot of forgiveness moving into Z585s or ZX5s? Want to move away from the more super game improvement irons. I've gotten and plan on continuing to get better as well. Thanks for the help anyone.

one could easily play the 5s down to a single handi. either version

How did you order them?  They aren't even listed on the US website yet.

I wouldn’t put too much stock into that claim, the guy who posted that has two posts and they are both identical. I too am having a hard time being patient but it’ll be worth it.

*edited to say I don’t actually know what I’m talking about and if that news is true I’ll be first in line! Hoping @cwhite1790is correct!

That’s correct. I’ve had a really hard time being patient. I’ve checked this thread every day for updates because I was afraid I got bad info from the place I bought them. When I heard that Srixon was apparently ahead of schedule I figured I’d jump in with the good news.

I didn’t know about this forum until i started looking into the zx5’s. But yeah, I’m just a random dude on the interwebz giving third-hand info so take it with a grain of salt.

I didn’t. The people who fitted me did. They don’t buy from the website, they have some sales dude they called to place the order.

Yeah most retailers don't buy from the website but the fact that they haven't even been announced on their US website leads me to believe they aren't even remotely close to having inventory for sale through US fitters. If they ordered from overseas then maybe that's the case.

Yeah I’m not saying that what they told me is gospel, just that I gave them $1300 and they said Srixon shows order shows as placed and that they should ship out early this week.

But they could be completely wrong. It may not ship for months. Just passing along information.
