I requested D3 for 4-9 and D4 for PW and my shop said they could only meet D3 across the board.

ZX7

CT 130x

standard build

I’ve requested from them a few orders in the past and was told the don’t swing weight custom builds last year, maybe the zx line they will but I wouldn’t count on it , same goes for most mfg actually , either way I’m a golfsmith and I fit  people and almost across the board they are never exact anyway, I guess it deoends on that particular builder and how he measures tbh , it’s odd they can’t get more  right than they get it wrong

Met a cool dude on here from Calgary, who referred me to his builder who will take apart the clubs and redo the weights if necessary

I'm not as familiar with the MMT shafts, but it seems odd that they are only available in 65 and 105. Is that a normal thing for OEMs to offer those particular choices? The 105 makes sense, but the 65 seems like a big jump.

Typically they don’t swing weight builds

Not swing weighting builds and having lighter heads for over length builds is a very different ask. A lot of companies have light weight heads for over length builds because once you add that much length the swing weight gets super high. For instance I just sent back a set of P770s because they came in at E1-E3 for a +1" build. Meanwhile my Mizuno B weight heads come in at D6-D7 with heavier shafts. Typically B weight heads are 6-8 grams lighter than standard weight heads.

That said I asked this question earlier in the thread and was told that Srixon will have a lightweight head option for over length builds for the ZX series. I have yet to be able to confirm this as accurate with Srixon yet(I have asked). They haven't said no, just that they thought so and we're trying to confirm.

We'll see. I hope this is true.

They are really good irons. If I "could" go play with something on the line right now it would be a hard decision between these and my T100!

Curious if anyone has any thoughts on how well the V-Sole is working in the ZX5s?

I still love my Mizuno 919 HMPs but if there is one thing that frustrates me with them it is turf interaction (they can get chunky) when our course is playing a bit soft. I'm sure it is much more me than the clubs, but still...

I'd like to hear as well. The only potential concern for me is the sole width. Seems like it might be just slightly too much.

Agree on Mizuno - I'm fairly steep and the recent Mizuno irons to have too little bounce for me as well. Good chance I'm going to blind order a set of ZX5s on Jan 6. Although I'm still liking my bent-weak P790s too.

Quick update here. I did try to preorder these yesterday and could not get a clear answer on the lightweight heads so I held off. Vendor told me they won't know until they can actually place the orders in mid January.

I currently have the T100 in the bag and the ZX7 have me thinking! Might not be worth the switch, but these are definitely on my radar for 2021.

I have had my ZX5's for about 2 weeks now. Only had the opportunity to hit them at the range about 10 times. I love them. The feel is great for such and iron. I've had i500, mp20hmb and forged tec one previously. The ZX5 have the best feel I think and look great at adress. I have the modus 120 shaft which I got fitted for. They came in at D5.

If I were to find a negative about them, it would be the little bit chunky sole on the 8-pw. So I understand if you wanna combo for that reason. But looking down at them, thats gone.

Looking forward going out playing and see how they go through the turf.
