Srixon 2020 Irons ZX7, ZX5, ZX Utility

I ordered blind. But I've hit and played the last 2 iterations. The new piece is the Recoils... but if I dont like them I can always pull them and put my Modus 120s back in.

I was also low launch but the ZX5s (I have 5-7) definitely produce a higher ball flight than the 7s, I'd say that's the main difference between the two models. Weakened the 7 iron by 1 degree just to help gap but didn't need to alter for flight

ping pong paddle is probably the worst analogy you could come up with, they’re not blades nor do they claim to be.

They designed the 7’s with a bit more topline forgiveness and the 5’s with a bit less topline forgiveness so they blend seamlessly. (Identical topline in fact)

Pro’s are going 7’s in the long and/or mid and Z Blade onward since they’re the best and don’t need extra forgiveness 

 

I will check them out in person. Hopefully they look great. Ive tried to train my eye over the years to ignore certain lines and offsets, but its like my brain is hypersensitive to it....it effects my game.....i may need a sports psychologist.

their spec doc lists KBS Tour Hybrid as an option, but when you build online they only offer the TGI. Has anyone ordered the ZX with the KBS Tour Hybrid?

Not exactly responsive, but I placed an order for ZX5 irons and the new utility two days ago (1/6/21), all with custom specs, and was told everything would ship in 3 - 7 days.

Boy that would be awesome. Ordered on 1/6 with $-taper shafts and would be thrilled if they made it by the end of the month. I ordered Zipcore wedges on 12/31 and they have not yet shipped. I’m not at all complaining, I did order them with KBS shafts as well that may have had to be ordered.

That would be ideal, the ZX with KBS Hybrid Prototype 95 or 105 would be absolute $$$$

Yes, I just heard that my order should ship by middle of next week. Not sure what carrier they will use. If USPS, we’ll be pealing the plastic off our new clubs on Memorial Day weekend!

I've placed a few orders from Srixon's site and they've always come via FedEx.

I have a U85 2-iron with the 105 prototype that is a hammer.

Was told by DD's 3-4 weeks. Not sure if this is just their standard disclaimer these days or if it was an actual estimate from Srixon (likely due to the MMT shafts I ordered)

I went ZX5 driver with ADDI, and custom spec 2/3 ZXU, and custom spec ZX5 4-AW. Ordered 1/6.

 

They had someone in the shop email me today and let me know that one of the specs couldnt be done, and what I would like to do instead. So at least I know they are working on my clubs! No idea when the ship date will be though.

Is a custom spec 2/3 ZXU just a 2 or 3 adjusted to 19 degs or something different?

I wasnt able to order loft changes on the ZXU from the website (no issues with the -2* lie). I ordered the F4 softstepped. I should have known that they couldnt soft step a 2i recoil. Anyway, I just went with a F3 hardstepped.

This is why you never pay retail for Srixon products.

Just ordered an entire new bag from DD and they quoted 3-4 weeks for every brand. Titleist, Srixon, Taylormade, and Mizuno. So I think this is just their default right now.

I ordered from DD on 12/29.  Was told 3-4 weeks. Srixon told me Wed of this week that stock builds are shipping now, and custom builds were being built now, and we should receive around Launch Date, which is the 15th.  I paid for overnight freight. That may have not helped at all...we shall see.

You talked to them and they verified this wasn't an error on their site, and they will honor the price?

Not entirely sure.  I upgraded to the Aerotech Steelfiber shafts, but that is on their list of available upgrades, so does that make it a custom build?  All other specs were standard (loft, lie, length)

I emailed them, let you know results.  I was inquiring about the shaft options (only modus 120 was listed), and asked about discount codes as well.  Can't beat that price if it's true!  Used ones would sell for more than that, most likely
