Just hit the ZX7s today, good night are they smooth.

 

Few thin, which is my normal miss, were all still within 3-4 yards of shots that felt pure. Very impressed.

How are you guys talking to someone at Srixon?  I emailed (not holding my breath on hearing back anytime soon based on the volume they are handling) and the phone system has an automated message, only people you can connect to are in their credit department.  Is that who you've been talking to?

I sent an email on Monday, didn't get a response so I called Tuesday and was on hold for a bit but a very nice young lady answered and helped me out.  Finally got an email response today, so that was good, he asked if I had any questions and I did have a couple new ones, so I emailed back promptly and . . . we'll see when I get a response, lol, didn't happen today but I'm in no hurry. The automated message must have just popped up so hopefully they are coming up with a better way to handle calls?  Should be fine soon.

I hit the ZX7s today. Really really impressed, felt great, solid ball speed numbers, lower spin than other irons in its category but probably more forgiving. Glad to see these are getting the hype they deserve.

So on Monday, they didn't have the automated message?  It said something like "we are not available to take your call because we are working on further building our service skills....".  Seemed kind of odd and sounded more like a personal voicemail rather than a professional greeting.  So maybe they are changing how they handle calls?

 

If you do hold on the line it transfers you to credit department, and lists all of their extensions and it said if you keep waiting you'll be transferred to next available credit agent, but I hung up because it didn't sound like correct person.  

 

Guess I'm waiting for an email!

I was able to talk to a representative on the srixon websites chat function!!

Based on the amount of Srixon Z765 and Z785 sets that have recently appeared in my local secondhand golf shop, I am guessing the ZX7s are selling well.

Looks like they shut down the chat function on the website too!  No link for chat on Srixon's 'contact us' page.  I went to the Cleveland website and they still show the chat link, but it's basically a dead link and doesn't re-direct anywhere.  

 

Appears email is only route, unless you go with one of the credit folks

1st Round Review - 

 

New Setup - 5-7 (ZX5), 8-G (ZX7) Modus Stiff 120 Soft Stepped

Old Set - HM 919 with KBS Tour (Stiff) 

Flight - Noticeably higher 

Descent - Very good

Turf Interaction - Duh, awesome

Distance - While I had set bent weak, I played same yardages and didn't have any issues. Perhaps I needed height and spin to max my own yardages

Favorite part of change - I don't know why, perhaps the offset, but the lefts are wayyyyyy less. 

Haven't Gap yet. 

Feel - Its been a while since my CB-501s, but the 5s and 7s both feel amazing, brought back memories of the CB-501.

What I MIGHT have done differently - Go 7-G with ZX7.

Looks like several forum members are getting theirs after a pretty short wait.  Maybe Srixon is close to catching up and will capitalize on this momentum they are enjoying.  IF the majority of orders are getting filled from a few weeks ago, maybe new orders will start being accepted again soon.

That can't be good for business cutting off customers. I have a fitting next week (first one) for the new srixon line up but with no idea when they will be back in stock I might go a different route. I emailed a few days ago for a guesstimate but never heard back. Can wait a month or 2 just need to know that's all.

I just saw on another thread 2 members who ordered this month have just got shipping notice.  Hopefully it will include all of what was ordered.  I know my assistant pro is expecting an 8 week wait for his new Pings.

Got a nice response this morning.  I asked about the length difference that seems to get mentioned - I was told yes, for example, on a +1/2" shaft it may be marginally longer so maybe 1/10 of an inch but not 1/4.  So I would guess it would also be affected by however the top of the grip is designed but not expected to be anything that would cause you to order at +1/4 to plan for +1/2, which was my question.

For those interested in stock shortages and build delays I posted this yesterday in another thread.

 

I called Srixon this morning about 9am and got right through. Spoke to Fran (who is great btw and a real pistol). She told me the issue is 4 and 5 iron heads in the ZX5 and some shafts (no issue with Modus or KBS) so they had to list everything as “out of stock” on the website. Next issue is build time. Say you want a set of ZX7s 4-W with C Taper Lites. Inventory isn’t an issue but they are getting crushed with orders. Fran told me that she’d take care of me because she likes my fitter but would still be 5-6 weeks.

Well, I ordered before the shortages and it has been about 7 weeks now and probably looking at another 2 at the earliest so, depending on what you order, I would mentally prepare yourselves for a long wait and then just be pleasantly surprised if it is shorter. Sounds like they are playing favorites at Srixon, which could be good or bad for you depending on who you know.

Sounds like they may be setting up tents outside to build to maintain needed distance per California guidelines.  Hoping to get mine soon as I have a trip to AZ in March I’d like to have them on.

Just a PSA, have your specs checked once you actually get them. Had mine checked before the build out and they were anywhere from 3-4* upright (were supposed to be just 1*). The lofts, luckily, were pretty much spot on for all but 1-2 of the clubs.

I am in Phoenix and am slightly worried about how it will react to firm summer conditions as I am more of a sweeper.
