Here's the 12 club bag. Normally 14 but I've played the last 2 rounds without the driver or SW.

An Orlimar pic promised just above

LOL look at the lead tape. Looks like you have been rummaging in my shop. Pretty good combo though.

This is pretty much the starting line up carried over from last year.

img-20190420-130317745.jpgHogan Apex 1&4W, Redline 1,3-E, Ram TW50* PW and Wilson R20 SW, Zebra putter hiding in the background.

I regularly swap in and out which is half the fun of vintage to me.

We are only just emerging from lock down here so these guys have yet to fight for their places this year!

Swapping in and out that is part of my fun too on the vintage side. It sure helps when you have a bunch of vintage stuff cheap. That driver even though it is not marked looks like a Model 12 Penna.

I'd posted this in the Persimmon Golf Society on the bookface.

Yes, it's 15 clubs, I was messing around with two different drivers. Golden Ram TW805, Golden Ram 3w, Louisville Smart Driver (9.5*), Golden Ram TW282 1-PW, and a Ram TG-898 SW. I have a TW282 SW that I can add in the bag, Ram TW860 and TW855 wedges, all sorts of fun.

I'd also posted in another thread about the Orlimar Driver, 3w and 4w I picked up from Brother Deejaid over the winter. New Old Stock, no less. I'll have to see if I can track down those pics to add to this thread

Thanks for the kind words.

Got that Smart Driver quite a few years ago in the miscellaneous rack at 2nd Swing. I'd never hit a wooden club before that, read up on the background. This was when generally only component companies were making 400cc and larger drivers. I was intrigued, took it to the course, hit it on the range along with my then in the bag SMT driver (300cc). I hit the Smart Driver every bit as long as my Ti driver, on the course, on the range, the whole thing. In spite of the shaft being a bad fit.

I've since had it reshafted. Used it recently on the course the old Senior Tour used to use for their event here in the Twin Cities, Bunker Hills. Was hitting it quite well. It still stands up pretty well, though it's obviously not as forgiving as the Fast 12 LS I have in my signature at moment.

Really an outstanding club. I'm glad I took that chance on the unknown, all those years ago.

Thanks copp I know my Penna woods. All of the models are different and I guess over the years I have learned the shapes. I have a couple of Model 12s and one is rough as a cob but has a regular shaft and I can hit the prettiest little high hook with it

Oh do not be embarrassed hit it like you stole it. And yes the older shafts were heavier and stiffer. And never believe a shaft band on anything

My favorite shafts are in a set of 50s era Magregor Byron Nelson Laminates. Don't even know what they are, but they're stiff enough and have some heft. They look like garbage, discolored all over, I just hope they don't break on me!

Yep you really have to watch that on older clubs especially here in this salt air environment. One of the reasons most of my classic gamers do not have original grips.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
