Nike Vapor Pro Combo, w-o-w!

I have a mint set 4-AW that I wanted to get rid of for years. Glad some Wrx’ers turned me down as I whipped them out last weekend and hit them somewhat decent. The stock DG Pro S300 is a little stiff for this old geezer but I think I’ll hang on to these for awhile. They sure are puuurdy.....haha

I’ve wanted a set with the black and volt colors stripped for a long time. I played forged Nike irons for a good stretch with the Pro Combo, VR S and Covert forged. All great sets!

I had a set and like some others, made the mistake of selling them. Bad move.

Kept on looking for a nice, like-new set and finally found the heads. Sent them to Continental to get cleaned up and MM Proto-ed (black and volt removed, just a black swoosh with a satin finish) and shafted them with some DG TI S400 shafts. Absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Don't play them much, but every now and then I take them out for a spin to be reminded how pretty and awesome they are!

Played them for the last 3 years and was convinced that they’d never leave my bag. Ended up building a set of miura cb 202s that happened to do the trick. That being said I’ll still never sell my set of VPC’s...solid all around set of irons

how do these compare to modern player irons like 718 ap2, P760, etc? I had a set when I was starting out, switched because I needed more help, now have worked my way into ap2 and have been tempted by going back to the nikes

Love my VPCs been playing them for almost 2 years now! Solid irons with some sharp looks, still not sure if I like the DG pro however. They always felt light and I never had an issue getting long irons in the air but now that my swing is improving I tend to balloon them, regardless love the irons!

for me the 8 -pw were the most enjoyable. I later found out there is a rare...very rare nike build of the 8-pw up to the long irons that the pros used. Paul Casey had a set. They were much better than the vr pro blades...Nothing close. the iblades has stopped my iron hunger..but who knows :(

I recently just moved them to my back up set (currently game JPX919 tour), and i don't think i will sell them. I want to reshaft them with my current gamers.

But they were amazing for the 4 years

How much did they charge you to for that service?

I'll have to dig up the receipt, but was super reasonable. Definitely well inside my local PGA SS or CC for the same work, with quality and attention to detail that is way superior to both. I've also had them build a set of Miura CB1008s and refinish a putter to mimic a tour putter that I have, and they were excellent in both those cases too.

Their website has the club repair prices listed but give them a call and they will tell you based on what you want done. Great guys!

I have tried everything to get them out of the bag. There is no better set of irons for me. That won’t keep me from buying 10+ sets of irons a year but I always go back to my Nike Vapor Pro Combos.

Still playing them here, love them. Had an affair with the x forged 18s but had bad distance control problems and now back commited to the VPC. As good as anything out now, super consistent with traditional lofts, feel great and look sharp if they suit your eye. Nike could sure make irons.

VPC (3-AW) with Steelfiber i95cw still in the bag. Backup set too but with i80cw Steelfibers. It's too bad Nike exited the equipment business. Have tested many others but the VPCs are more fun to play with.
