Not even sure if it's going to be in Charlotte, I just remembered hearing it wasn't going to be in Utah, I thought the podcast might have said South Eastern US, but I remember ZB flying out of Charlotte the day after doing the scouting so that's gotta be the nearest major airport to it if I had to guess.

Aiken, SC is my understanding and I will leave it at that. There has been some positive momentum, really hope it happens.

Definitely no hate for ZB here. I think what he is doing, or at the very least trying to do is great but I am definitely surprised at the amount of mileage a guy who has never gotten into the Top 100 in the World has been able to get. Seems like he got in with the NLU guys at the right time and that has helped him make the most of what he has.

FWIW Charlotte is a major connection hub for the southeast so if he was seen at the airport he could have been making a connection from somewhere else.

I read most of this thread but sorry if I missed it...the best explanation I heard was that TBC is a golf club without a course (yet.) That's what The Collective is...basically the "membership" or the group that doesn't have their home course. I could be way off, but it kinda made sense to me. He has enough hype that when the course does open, and I believe it will, it's going to be a destination.

I agree with the resale of the merch being out of control but definitely no worse than Cameron stuff. Not trying to compare the two, but similar secondary accessory markets. I have a headcover that I got during one of the releases and it is really high quality, actually the best I've ever owned. I'd never pay the prices you see on ebay for the stuff but I feel like I got my money's worth buying it direct.

Sorry, I know this is a thread about irons, which look really cool by the way...but I am also in the camp of not understanding why the guy gets so much hate when he's living his dream and doing what most any of us would do given the opportunity.

It would definitely make me curious as to what happened to all of the positive momentum out in Utah? IIRC just in the last few months they had released more sketches and hole mapping layouts for that site as well.

Definitely falls under the "believe it when I see it" category. But ZB seems like a good dude though and is a huge gear junky so I definitely root for the guy.

The terrain was too difficult and was going to make the cost exorbitant. The land in SC is the perfect soil and can be built with Collins King's design ideas easier.

It took him five (more?) years to figure this out? Five years of telling people what a great site Utah was and posting pics on IG of them walking the site and telling people how great that site was going to be? Like I said, he seems like a smart dude, I have a hard time believing in all that time no one ever took a soil sample or did a cost estimate.

Besides - didn't this whole thing start because he wanted to build a place for BYU to play? NOW he decides the soil in SC is perfect? C'mon.

I don't think he has his card, I think he's playing on exemption at least that's what I saw looking at a few of the entries for the last few events. I could be wrong though which I probably am.

While Blair is getting in some events via a sponsor exemption he does have his PGA Tour card for the 2019/2020 season from finishing the top 25 on the Korn Ferry Tour last season during the regular season.
