Well its been a while and I have been busy with my bag. Finally going to be getting out and playing this weekend for the first time in 2022. The whole bag is updated and what I presume to be not changing for the foreseeable future as the wife found my golf box stash. 

 

Driver: Cobra Radspeed XB 9* @ 8*. Peacoat Finish. Measures at 44.5". Tensei Pro White 1k 60-S. Shaft may change depending on how this weekend goes as I have a HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX I may try.

Bag: Ogio RTC Stand bag. Shes a big girl for a stand bag but she does the job. I ride mostly but like having the stands for the range etc.

Haha its strange. I dont mind all the different brands in the bag but cant stand all the different headcovers- I at least want something halfway color coordinated..

My new Srixon ZX5 4-iron was delivered on Friday, which was the last club I was waiting for to complete my bag for the 2022 season!

 

After a chaotic 2021 that included 92 clubs bought/owned, and 76 sold (including 9 Drivers), I decided that stabilizing my bag for this 2022 season was going be be extremely important, since the constant changes to my bag started negatively impacting my game and just wasn’t healthy.

 

So with great effort and restraint, I only turned over 3 spots in my bag over the Winter, which was massive progress for me! The only turnover was my Driver, 3W, 4-iron, and golf bag (although I constantly looked at used and new clubs over the last 5mths still)! 

 

My goal is to keep this bag mostly intact until the end of the season, then can decide on changes afterwards. The most likely change is the Hybrid spot where I have a 19* and 22* I can alternate, but prefer to have 1 adjustable one.

 

Without further ado, here is my 2022 WITB…very excited about this setup for sure and can’t wait until the snow melts!

This year I decided to go all out on not just equipment, but customization/personalization. The first thought I had was about what a divisive topic having your name on your bag is. Instead of going that route I created my own Circle P logo to have embroidered on my bag. Next was the putter. I’ve always wanted a putter like Tiger’s and reached out to JRich with Putter Spa to see if he could take a Pro Platinum and make it look like Tigers. He suggested going the complete custom route and contacting Compass Golf. The thought of a complete custom putter got my wheels turning and it took off from there. I wanted a custom putter just like Tiger’s, but with my own personalization to it. I created a logo with my wife’s name, Leslie, out of the Titleist font to go along with my Circle P logo. I would put my sons names (James and Rory) on the bumpers. I also decided if I’m getting a custom putter why not go all out and have everything custom. This led me to Entitled golf for a custom putter grip and Delilah Club Covers for 2 custom putter covers and a caddy bag. I also got a new hybrid cover from Delila with a logo I made for my annual buddies golf trip, The Blanket Masters. I explained all the customization and personalization to my friend like this, it’s my equivalent of a sentimental tattoo (especially the putter.) I love the look of it, there’s a lot of meaning in it, and I’ll keep it forever.
