Not really sure the best place to put this but wanted to show my appreciation to Toll and team. 
 

I recently received a Tensei white AV Raw TX (non- 2.0) and have had a chance to both play and get on launch monitor with it and wanted to share thoughts. 

TM SIM 9* turned down to 7*

launch - 14.5

spin - 2,100

carry - 285

 

I’m coming out of an Aldila graphene green ATX, found that shaft with SIM launched a little higher than I wanted and floated on me mid to late flight. For some reason the ATX felt to loosen up a little bit with the SIM head where it was just right with my 2017 M1 head. 
 

the Tensei is still just a shade looser than I’d hoped, you feel it load up pretty good but it’s in the middle of the shaft and not under hands like the old version. I never had it jump or kick at release so for me the results were high launch low spin little straight push or I could draw it when needed. I also can see a noticeable flattening of the flight, instead of high and rising flight on the ATX, the Tensei is going flatter and peaking further down with lower decending angle. For me I have a late release and the club can flip over to smoother hook a drive, this helped control that issue without so much timing involved. ATX DEFINITELY had more right to left flight than the Raw White and on occasion could get stuck with big blocks right, the raw for me stayed with my swing much better and stayed in control. 

 

All in all, very pleased and driver performed amazing on course. I think best to best is similar, I just am seeing much more consistent “best” type shots with the Tensei. I’m very confident my strike pattern has tightened up which I think is largely feel related to the lessened loading feel. As previously stated I think the new flight is more appealing to my eye than the crazy high, long carry flight of previous shaft.

Hey Gio, I always value your input as a longtime lurker. Ill be grabbing an av white soon. My SS is around 122ish, sleepy transition. My beloved KK DC 70tx split about 9 inches down the shaft so she's retired now. I see the aldila proto 1.0 is the potentially closest feel wise. With the KK DC it did launch on the higher side, im thinking the AV white 2.0 would fit the bill since im looking to switch it up. Also how are they feel wise compared to one another, if the av white 2.0 is "tighter" feeling im all for that.

Certainly a tighter one of the two. If u liked a bit of kick that the DC gave - don't expect it from the white.

Excellent, thanks for the feedback. I like the feel of loading but no kick. The DC was good because maybe the way I swing but I'd didnt kick hard. I briefly tried a tour ad gp 7x and quickly realized i had wasted my money lol. That thing kicked so hard i couldn't time it. Opposite end of the spectrum but I borrowed my buddys hulk 70tx tipped 1" for a while and while the flight and performance were good it didn't feel all that great to me. 

 

Sounds like the av white 2.0 will be the shizzzz ? thanks Gio ??

i've never got along well with a Graphite Design shaft -- i had the hulk for quite a long time -- in fact i used it in my 3w and loved it (was strictly a tee only club). i wont lie, i'm DYIN to get my hands back on a white 2.0...had everything i was looking for - feel, stability and consistency. i'm actually back to my Fuji Pro 2.0 TS 6x tipped 2" (cam champ style). the RIPx has met its end.

I have to be honest....this is my first real experience with these premium shafts and have done some experimenting, but not much practice due to covid and a baby recently, but hoping to get some thoughts so little hard for me to explain specifics or other shafts.  But similar to TJ, have a higher swing speed(120-123) with a smoother transition, but aoa is fairly neutral, maybe 2 up(which I'm trying to work on) so do launch a little lower w/ bit more spin.  I've had a ventus black 7x(tipped 1/2"), and now have a tensei av raw orange 75X(NOT TX, tipped 1/2"), as well as a rogue 130 70TX(tipped 1").  Loved the feel of the ventus, liked the higher launch/flight of the orange.  I do lose this to the right, so it's on the market.  Ventus was a little unpredictable, two way miss.

 

Think I have the best of both worlds with the Rogue?  Seeing you're now playing the TS, also a very interested contender...certainly could save a little bit of money from the others if they go on the black market.  Similar to the ventus in feel, just little more aggressive tipping?

130 White 70TX.  Looking for a mid launch/low spin.  Like the idea of the counterbalanced shaft.  Essentially, looking for confirmation that I've got my hands on the right set up...I know, I'll get the "go get fit" line lol. ...but at least on paper or from what most others experience with it... 

 

Or if something like that 2.0TS would be just as good as an option for what I have if I wanted to save a little money for other purchases.

for a budget shaft -- a tipped 2.0TS is a phenomenal shaft (that or the RIPx). 

if you're looking for a premier shaft you could go with the new aldila tour proto 1.0 in 70g tipped 1.5" -- it will take some of the kick out of it and should be a solid mid flight low spin bomber.

Honestly, unless you find an insane club fitter, testing at 120mph is going to be tough... That should be a good shaft for you, though.

Nice! I've only briefly read up on the Fuji Pro 2.0 TS. I think the hulk would be great in my 4 wood actually thinking about it, i hit that thing pretty high. The only Graphite design shaft I've "liked" is the MT I have in my 4 wood now, it is tipped 2.5 inches though so it doesnt kick, just loads up i guess. 

 

I'm definitely gonna hopefully get an AV Raw White 2.0, I need a solid shaft. Out here where I live there are no fitters and no way of trying anything out, all by the seat of your pants here LOL.

Appreciate the input.  Think the 2.0 is going to be very similar/upgrade vs the Rogue white?

 

Any idea on balance/sw point differences between rogue vs 2.0?

@gioguy21 I'm late to this thread, but what are some of the lowest launching shafts out right now? Doesn't matter if it's brand new or an oldy-but-goody type of thing.

 

I have a 125mph swing when I'm warmed up and I can't seem to get my launch low enough. I'm working on sourcing a driver head that I can get low enough lofted, but last time I went in for a mini "fitting" (basically just tested a few shafts ~8mo ago) everything had a peak height of 150ft, way too high.

 

I'd love to find a head+shaft combo where I can rip at it and keep it ~80-120ft most times.

the rogue white SW's lighter than the 2.0; the 2.0 sw's like a standard shaft however the white for some reason had a little counterbalance in it.

Is there any difference in stiffness between a 60g or 70g Hulk? Was eyeing this shaft as a means to bring down my launch. I like to player shorter drivers (43-44" if I can get it), so was thinking of a 70g or 80g shaft in there tipped 1-1.5" probably.

 

Might have to build up an identical version of Champ's driver lol

The differences in the hulk shafts are when going from x flex to TX. Be careful with the tipping bc it can get unplayable after 1.5"

@gioguy21 Do you have any experience with the Tour Only models of the Hulk shaft in the 80g and 90g version? I'm sure they're stout, but could be great options for a shorter driver and shorter fairway wood setup?

Gio, I'm still playing a KK XD 60 TX (tipped 1/2") that JT fit for me couple of years ago.  Currently it's paired with a 2016 M2 8.5.  Looking to pair something with the newer SIM head.  Any thoughts on a similar profile?

You could go great with an aldila tour proto 1.0. Basically a more stable lower spinning xd with similar launch

I suppose the 80 could. I think the 90 would overwhelm most people.
