Just wondering if anyone gets their golf fix elsewhere online aside from the obvious golf networks or YouTube , or do u use the internet less after limiting visits to the site?

Reddit.com/r/golf isn't too bad. A lot of memes. Otherwise, Instagram. A lot of great golf content on there, particularly Channing Benjamin Photography.

The last 9 months or so, Ive started limiting myself to exposure to golf on the internet. I used to watch and read so much about it that stuff I saw and read started creeping into my golf "feels" and and into my head. So I pretty much just stopped and Im a much better player for not listening to all that stuff.

I only watch a couple of YouTube channels now (non instructional), and I check in here maybe once a week or 10 days... Thats it.

Yup. I pretty much stop following any instruction videos. I think these videos have their merits, but I never had any long-term success with them. Some of them are stopgap measures, which soon introduces other flaws.

i used to peruse the golf sub on reddit but it's mostly terrible now. this is what you'll get there, in a nutshell:

memes, memes, and more memes"are we still doing downhill par 3's?" pics"i made a hole in one!" pics"i almost made a hole in one!" pics"my dog's birthday was today so i just bought this new club. time to shank it with style!"occasionally there are good posts. just not enough to keep me coming back with any regularity.

Other than here, which I really can't say I'm active enough, I go logon to local golf community which are more geared to "what's up" with the local courses and mostly they're about the course's status and current playing conditions. Other than that, it's either practice or play.

I've started to get into Cameron putters and enjoy reading some of the history of them on Cameron Collector. It is as much info as you could ever want about that brand of putters. Probably info overload, but If you are buying and selling 4K putters, it is where you get the best info. Cracks me up to see someone ask here on Deal or No Deal "is this Cameron real?" The knowledge level there is incredible. Not as diverse as here, but a fun rabbit hole to go down occasionally.

there's another site called advancedballstriking.com i occasionally visit. i'm not a member there and don't participate, but i've come across a bunch of enjoyable posts, particularly about the swings of classic and some lesser-known golfers.

 

other than that, youtube has been good for satisfying my golf fix. i mostly enjoy watching players play (especially match play) and avoid the instructional stuff unless it's focused on course management or tournament prep-type stuff.

 

here's a list of my subs if anyone is interested. some i haven't watched so i won't claim they're all great. but still, lots of good stuff imho. ?
