Dechambeau throws a fit, blames camara man for ruining his brand

Irony is his fit wasn’t shown on tv. So Bryson keeps his mouth shut and no one knows.

Sealed with a curse as sharp as a knife.  Doomed is your soul and damned is your life.
Enjoy every sandwich

The first rule of the Dunning-Kruger club is that you don’t know you are a member.   The second rule is that we’re all members from time to time.

One drink and that's it. Don't be rude. Drink your drink... do it quickly. Say good night...and go home ...

We normally agree on most things shank, and I love reading your commentary...but I’ll fundamentally disagree with your stance on role models. Just because your paid an obscene amount of money doesn’t make one a role model, just because you play a game for a living in front of people doesn’t make you a role model. These athletes in pro sports do something literally less than 1 percent of the population can do (both on the court/field/pitch/course and off sports cars, mansions, ladies or dudes). There is literally nothing relatable to any of us on this board, lest you played, so to look at these people as a role model? I disagree. If you want to aspire to be like them on the court? Go for it, but I find it hard to set someone as a role model whom you don’t know personally.

For me my role model was my dad...he served in the military as a pilot and served through conflict and I didn’t see him much at all in my teenage years. But my brother and I were close in age (5 years) had sports, and we lived on base so everyone else’s dad was gone too. We were very lucky that my dad came home, we knew quite a few that didn’t...but not long ago actually last Father’s Day we had about a four hour talk. He apologized to me for not being there, and said that he regretted some of his life decisions that took him away from us for so long. I was struck by this because it did bug me as a kid...especially in school when career day came our dad could never be there, missed graduations, plays, sporting events. But as I got older I (my brother too) understood that my father had a job to do, and we knew he was going to do a good job and do it correctly the first time (saving others time and savings others lives) so I was at peace with it as a junior in high school...that’s when I had that epiphany. As a result I inherited that trait and made it my goal to always do the best job I could and make the necessary sacrifices to be the best that I could each day. That is what a role model is too me.

Let's not forget that was some of the statements he has made leading up to the restart that he is open himself up to this kind of criticism. His self-proclaimed greatness put out an air of conceit and he needd to show it on the course and back it up with his clubs and not just his mouth. You hit a bad shot own it and deal with it. the cameraman is there to do a job. Your job is to perform with the clubs. He is not above the same treatment that other players who are much greater than him have received. I remember Jack Nicklaus in the hell bunker taking many shots then threw the club and they never took the camera off of him. Tiger has had the camera in his face many times for tantrums. And let's not forget the biggest crybaby of all Sergio Garcia. All of them are much better players than Bryson could hope to be given his performance up to date.

Been hearing things this morning about "Players Full of Themselves ".....................Frank Robinson............ Bill Russell...........Wayne Gretsky ..............Vince Lombardi ..........Jack Nicklaus..........All on record of saying no One Person is bigger than the sport they participate in ......To me the players need the sport more than any sport needs the players (including Tiger Woods) .The Sport is the thing that can not be replaced .......... ALL PLAYERS are replaceable . (At least the 5 men I mentioned believed that !)........Jack is no longer playing and Golf on TV still makes lots of money .

He acted like a big crybaby. Made it worse by bitching and berating the camera man. Probably lost the few fans he had yesterday.

Yo yo, dss! Hope alls good with you and yours.

I was a total sports kid, both played and watched all things baseball and football.

I don’t ever remember thinking, I want to be like this person personally. They were just these insane athletes doing crazy stuff on the field. And that was it. I never was interested in what they said or their interviews. I mean, we would all mess around and imitate Willie Stargels routine at the plate or Reggie going to a knee when hit hit a homer. But I didn’t care about what they talked about.

Reg-gie!! Here is is his patented HR (or whiff) and take a knee ; )

ifIf a guy has potential for blowing up, they are always going to show him. When you think of Bjorn Borg, you always think of his greatness as a player. When you think of John Mc Enroe, even though he was a great player, most people think of him losing his mind on the court. If he is worried about his brand, mabye he needs to behave better. You never see Rickie Fowler misbehaving, and he's probably built a brand much bigger than his record. You never hear anyone say anything bad about Rickie. Folks say he probably should have more wins, but I've never heard anyone say they don't like him.

I have had just about enough of the Bryson freakshow.

His recent tantrum does not make me think any less of him.

Televised athletes are role models because they are the best at what they do..ones you should emulate..thats the definition of a role model by google standards anyway.

They may not and should not be your role model for every aspect of life but in some instances they certainly are by a percentage of millions of viewers. You give up that right to decide who you are a role model to as soon as you agree to sell your rights to be recorded.

This “I’m not a role model” talk is just spoiled athletes only wanting their successes to be recognized not their failures as well.

Well the Golf Channel and Tv commentators needed a story and he is a good story. He may not be handling the spotlight as well as he should.

Haters gonna hate. Bryson hits it 360, has a hot girlfriend, he is making big money, he can play and he is in the show, Haters probably had little country club memberships that mommy and daddy paid for,

Leave Bryson alone campaign starting right now!!!! Knowing that a lot of these players are coming strong with their brand, not a good look to be known as a Whiner. Look at Patrick Reed. But oh well, why spend time talking about what Bryson does hoping our comments are gonna make him change. Doubt it.

I can’t begin to comprehend this way of thinking.

Act like someone because you see them act a certain way on tv?!

When I was in middle/hs , the Oakland Raiders were a great team and they were nuts! Bunch of maniacs wearing pads.

And the biggest nut was All-pro, Pro-bowl, Super Bowl winner Lyle Alzado! (RIP)

He actually inspired the NFL to *make it a rule that you can’t throw a helmet at someone. Apparently, this was not already a rule ?.

Did any body on our team look at him as a “role model” or emulate him? No, our coaches and parents would have kicked our tails. Plus, you just already knew his behavior was insane.

... I blame the parents. What chance did these guys have but to become" insufferable gobshite" with names like Bryson Dechambeau and Brandel Chamblee? Now Donnie Dechambeau and Chucky Chamblee would certainly stand a chance of getting thru jr high school without wearing Kick Me notes taped to the back of their shirts.

Hopefully no one is 100% copying everything B. You were probably smart enough and raised well enough to realize that throwing a helmet was not a good thing.

But I’ll give you the best example I can think of, Air Jordan shoes. There is one reason they were so popular when they came out (now days, I can’t say), MJ.

Air Jordans! Think I was like a hs freshman when they rolled out. Biggest thing ever. In my hs, the kids who wore them usually stunk at sports and just had parents who would buy them stuff.

But, I’d counter that of course kids want to emulate the gear and style of great players. Like, when Eric Dickerson came out, I got one of those neck rolls with the pointy ends and played with it!

But I’d argue that we still all knew that pros are pros, they curse, spike the ball, dance on the field, but we were expected to be disciplined.

And MJ was not like a dirty player or not-professional acting on the court.

But I get your point, there are kids who end up acting like clowns trying to act like sports stars.

Eric D neck roll!
