Dechambeau throws a fit, blames camara man for ruining his brand

Today after Bryson had a 10 he hit a poor shot on the 16th. The cameraman was basically at the bottom of the tee filming the players walk off. Brysons caddy walked directly to the cameraman videoing him and you can see him intimidate the cameraman with his bag before they cut the shot. That’s enough evidence for me. Unless it was someone else’s caddy?

I'm trying to picture how the caddy could intimidate someone with his bag but OK, you've convinced me. LOL

Nothing to do with glasses of any color and no, I didn't watch it. Got a link ? Nobody managed to supply a link with BDC and the cameraman.

I'd really like to see how a caddy could intimidate someone else with their bag.

I saw the pictures from last week but they didn't seem to indicate/show that BDC "threw a fit" or "berated" anybody. But the only 1st hand testimony I saw was from Bryson after the round. If there were links to video and/or other testimony, especially from the cameraman I haven't seen them.

As for this new incident with the caddy, I guess I don't really care enough to look for it. But maybe you can tell me how the caddy intimidated the cameraman with the golf bag ?

Here is my take on the situation.

Either Bryson told his caddie to block the camera with the bag, or he took it on his own, but blocking the camera view with a golf bag I would not call intimidation.

But before this walking of the caddie with the bag towards the cameraman to block the view Bryson walked directly behind his caddie so that the camera could not view him.

Sorry Bryson, but it is the cameraman's job to shoot you when you hit good shots and bad shots. Learn to handle your emotions a little better in the public spotlight.

The opinion and observation was made HERE. The discussion is HERE. That's why I wondered aloud HERE. Don't feel like answering ? No worries.Thank you. So the caddie blocked the cameraman's view then ?

"Intimidated" him. LOL

If you were walking with a piece of paper, and you saw someone with a camera filming something you didn't want them too, you would walk close to the camera and hold up the piece of paper in the lens of the camera to block the view- That is how I saw it. Now you can be the judge: here it is; scroll down to the bottom video. But first notice that Bryson walks right behind his caddie like a scared little dog. https://awfulannouncing.com/golf/bryson-dechambeaus-caddie-rushes-to-block-camera-after-bryson-melted-down-for-a-10.html

I don't seem to be making my point very well. Sorry about that.

So I looked at your link and saw the last video on the page. I agree with what you saw. Yes, the caddie blocked the cameraman's view. Bad caddie.

But my point is, what you just showed me is hardly "intimidating". My point is that most people pile on - the next guy needs to come up with a worse adjective than the previous poster and eventually turns a mountain into a molehill - because they don't like the guy. Thank goodness profanity isn't permitted around here. LOL

I agree that BDC is a different kind of guy, marches to the beat of a slightly different drummer and is a bit awkward with other people, especially the press, and acts poorly at times. So what ? IMO, he doesn't deserve all the vitriol sent his way.

A major complaint about Tour players is that they're all the same. Colorless, emotionless robots. Speak to the press in cliches. So here we have a guy that's different, often wears his emotions on his sleeve, shows a bit of a temper at times and tells the interviewer what he really thinks and what do we do ? Trash the guy. LOL

Just one person's opinion. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Enjoy your Sunday everybody.

So now he calls a ruling official because of ants? What is so funny is he was standing there right in the midst of them. He wasn’t jumping around or avoiding them ?The camera zoomed in and showed the terrible lie with sticks laying on his ball after hitting it so far left. There is part of me that wants to respect him, but it is going to be tough. Seems like he always has a shovel in hand to dig his own hole.

BDC isn't winning himself any fans, but he is building a following. People love to watch heroes AND villains (especially heroes vs villains) which is why TW vs Sergio was always so great to watch. At this point I want to watch BDC's round just to see what wild stuff he tries to get away with. Can he top fire ants tomorrow?

This is getting hilarious! Just humor me though, what is the rule exactly he was trying to use? Like if it is a big hole from a groundhog, I assume you can get a drop? What is if it is like a mound of fire ants and you put your foot there and the ants can quickly sting you? What rule was he trying to use exactly and what exactly lets you get a drop?

The rule says certain areas can be considered ground under repair if "Interference by an abnormal ground condition occurs when a ball lies in or touches the condition or when the condition interferes with the player’s stance or the area of his intended swing."

It's clearly meant to be when you take your stance and your foot falls into an animal hole, or you have to step in an ant mound or something. Just LOL that Bryson tried to use this rule because he saw a couple ants.

I didn't see ANY part of the situation but if any of you guys think being stung by fire ants is a joke, just try it sometime - just make sure there's medical help somewhere close when you do though.

Rule 16.2 allows free relief from a Dangerous Animal Condition, defined as:

"A “dangerous animal condition” exists when a dangerous animal (such as poisonous snakes, stinging bees, alligators, fire ants or bears) near a ball could cause serious physical injury to the player if he or she had to play the ball as it lies."

Note that fire ants are specifically mentioned.

This is not Ground Under Repair, which is an Abnormal Course Condition, and is covered in 16.1.
