A bit unfair as my point of reference was a set of Woodworm golf clubs bought off amazon for like 80 bucks for the whole set including bag... lol. BUT several years later when I picked up some Eye2's with ZZ lite shafts for near to nothing, went to the range and hit my first shot with a 7 iron... changed the game for me. Literally that moment I went from kinda dabbling, to full blown addict. It was like a different sport. Personally I think it was just: the right shaft with a decent head. But that was it: The moment that ruined me for other sports for the rest of my life.

That was quite a driver! Right after I started playing golf, and before I got heavy into equipment, I played a scramble tournament to benefit my school. I was invited by a buddy to fill in for their usual 4th, who had to drop out last minute. The best player on the team was a legit stick that played college golf for an ACC school. He was he's and shoulders the best player in the field. Well, he showed up on the first tee with a TiSi that he literally took the wrapper off and proceeded to melt drive after drive all round long. The other groups took notice. I bet he sold 30 TiSis for the local shop that day.

G - those Nike SV Tour wedges were the best I've ever played. I had the 60/10 and could do anything with it. To this day, I've never played a more versatile wedge around the greens. My short game is best when I can hit shots without breaking the turf. I could hit EVERY sho with that wedge and never leave a mark in the grass. It was like magic for me!

I bought a used set of Bullet .444 Magnum blades (made by Kyoei) way back in 1994 after somebody stole my clubs (when they stole my car). I hadn't used forged blades in a great while and was struggling with distance control. These Bullets were later the KZG ZO blades when Roger Dunn sold the Bullet name in 1994. KZG immediately jumped on these available "made for" blades when they became available from Kyoei. They made distance control easy. They also had a low center of gravity which made getting the ball up on the air easy, especially for a blade. Ironically, this set was stolen a number of years later. It took me 4 months of looking on Ebay to find another set. They were cheap because people didn't know what they were. I never replaced the S400 shafts with X-Flex Dynalite Golds like I had the first set so they never played quite as well as the first set..

Definitely Hogan Apex Plus 2 iron, my first forged club... ahhhhh. Also when a fitter had me blindly testing shafts for JPX 850 Forged irons, he blindly swapped a MP-54 head in, and on the first shot I said "oh that was solid". Been in the bag since!

I was looking for a more compact set of irons a few years ago to replace my TaylorMade Speedblades and wanted 3-PW. I told myself that if I can’t hit the 3 iron, than I need a more forgiving set. I decided to order a Nike Vapor Pro Combo 3 iron with an s300 for cheap, and quickly realized during my first round playing it that I had to have the rest of the set. Absolutely money off the tee and I am confident enough to hit from the fairway and the rough. I play the rest of the set with the stock DG Pro s300s and like them, but just not the same as the 3 iron!

Two have stood out. J's Professional Weapon and the "holy grail" Taylormade 300 Tour (360 cc) with a Rapport Blue Velvet shaft.
