I just went into PGS SS and asked them if they had the demos yet. Guy says no, but I looked into their cabinet and saw a bunch of 770 7 iron heads sitting in there. How do you as an employee working the fitting bays not know if you’ve got a new release from a major OEM in yet?!

Anyway, hit a few 7 irons with DG S300 and was impressed by the spin numbers. Was hitting a pro v1 about 185 with 6200ish spin. I’m guessing the slightly less jacked lofts help but I was impressed.

every time ive been to the PGS SS, its been a horrible experience with the reps.....i pray i get a knowledgable salesperson each time but it hasnt happened yet

I went in PGA SS in MB on Sat and asked the same question. Guy said they didn’t have them and really acted like he didn’t know what they were. My local guy had them back at home so I find it hard to believe PGA SS.

Anyway, I hit them yesterday.  They look great and felt pretty good, definitely better than P790’s.  They didn’t blow me away but I didn’t have a proper shaft for me either. I’ll give them another try with a different shaft.

The 770 7i is 33*. In comparison it's a degree weaker than your power spec'd BP 7i. How did you like the feel compared to the BPs? I don't expect it to be as good, but maybe along the lines of 718 AP2's.

You know, I play a P790 in a 3 iron in my set and I found the P770 to feel more "solid" and more comparable to my Blueprints than the somewhat "hot" feeling of the 790. The first few I caught low on the face which I will say felt like I was hitting a 10 pound ball but didn't hurt my numbers too much. Overall I thought the 770 felt good and for my preference I liked it more than the feel of the P790 but not as much as my Blueprints (not sure anything can top them for me).

You were able to order your irons in various changes in loft? I ordered 4-p in 770 and wanted 5-p a degree weak and they said I'd have to do the whole set the same way.

I did the same thing.

Went with P7MC
4-P
1* Flat Lie

Lofts
4/5 - 1* weak
6/7/8 - Standard
9* - 0.5* Strong
PW - 1* Strong
D4 Swingweight

C Taper 130x Soft Stepped 2x
Standard Length

Standard New Decade Red/Black - one wrap logo down

also added a P770 4 iron 1* weak to test out

I love the BPs too. Still the best looking irons at address for me. I almost ordered the 7MCs but decided to get a much more forgiving set...plus they did a great job in the looks dept on these.

Ended up going with P7MC in the 6-PW 1* strong and P770 in the 4-5 iron .5* weak. Hit a P770 7 iron in the fitting bay last week and it felt great but still wanted the cavity players iron in the lower irons I'm accustomed to in the 750/770 combo. They look even better in person than the photos which I thought was going to be tough to do. Seems like a winner all around.

I saw all 3 demo irons today and the 770’s look even better in the hand than the pics!

I was tempted to go for the MC to replace my P750’s but in all honesty the extra forgiveness of the 770 will help out!...after seeing them and liking the minimal offset they should work nicely! Now to decide what shaft to go with!! (There’s not many fitters I trust round here)

The guy who was "working" with me at Golf Galaxy would just regurgitate total distance on every shot. Of all of the data that a GC2 provides, that is the stat I could care least about. It's amazing how untrained people are at the big box stores.

Does anyone know if the DG120 that can be custom ordered in these will be the ones with the Sillscreened Logo or the cheapo small sticker like the original P790’s??

I think it is the Chepo Sticker since the painted on label is only on the Tour issue  and there is usually an up charge on those

Starting last year they silkscreen the logos on all the dg 120, not just the tour issue.  For some reason, maybe excess stock, TM continues to offer the one with the band.
