The early bird gets the worm. Starting at 11pm Thursday night (I'm in the Central Time Zone of the US), I began refreshing the Taylormade website every two or three minutes.

I configured a set within minutes of the products being available on the custom shop and saw 9/14 as the date; when I did it again on Friday I saw 9/4.  I submitted my pre-order on Saturday and had a 9/4 date.

I don't think anyone needs to worry about 9/14 as the ship date if you pre-ordered in the first day or two. I haven't checked recently to see what the ship date is currently showing.

Really wish they had a 4-5 iron to demo, I might keep my P790 4 iron depending on how it feels

Keep the 4 - that’s what I’m doing. It’s the best 4 iron I’ve ever owned.

I hit the MC and 770 the other day. 770 looked good, felt good, but went too far and the dispersion was a little loose. Pretty much the same results as the 790s I had a few years ago.

MCs looked just awesome. They felt similar to a Mizuno to me, pretty damn good. Dispersion was a lot better and my distances were I need to be . Really didn’t find them to be hard to hit.

But, still didn’t bear my gen 3 0311Ts. If I switch at some point, it will be the MC

I ordered yesterday- 5-G P770 Modus 130S. I’m going to keep my 790 4 iron in the bag. Love that club.

I got an estimated ship date of 9/4

Sept 4th projected arrival date for me too.  I ordered early the first day.

As a lefty, I've played mismatched combo sets for years.  Always gotten along well with TM irons and always said if they ever made a lefty blade i would buy.  Just so happens it came out in combination with the nicest looking iron lineup ever.  Love a longer blade length in an MB, so I'm jazzed for these.

Funny you say that I’m kinda in the same boat. Want some of this new line but it’s going to be hard for me to give up my mp-20s in 7-P.

That’s awesome to hear about the sole. Basically a slightly more forgiving 760?

I wouldnt know, never hit a 760 before but makes sense based on how the P700 series is numbered.

Some YT vids the spin looked pretty low.  Some other forums I read while this one was down.

I wonder what shaft they played with. Was just talking with a buddy today whose friend (1 index) games 790 and played a round using a 770 7i. Oddly enough both him and the head pro reported that their launch ball flight was lower than the 790 which I found VERY surprising. Now I'm really torn...

The blade looks gorgeous and has a generous sole. The MB even better. Got to hit the 770 last night. Lie was too upright and weaker shaft than I game but amazingly consistent, easy to knock down and 4 mph more ball speed with a 7 iron than my current irons. Cannot wait to try them in correct spec. And they look fantastic.

Did they hit them on a launch monitor? I highly doubt a 29* loft 6i will launch lower than a 26.5, despite the small difference in CG.

Same here.  And I had zero issues with the feel of my 790s.

770s give a little more feedback on mis-hits, but that’s something I want.

This is the same thing i want, i have had my P790's for 4 years and am a 6.6 handicap now and want some feedback from my irons and i think the 770's will give me that!

i still cant figure out how they go the same distance and have gaps in lofts like they do?

I guess I'm an outlier. I tried these today. They look nice but the feel is the same as the the 790, which means not great. I hit some good ones but the feel has me looking elsewhere.

I hit 770 and 7MC today.

770 wasn’t overly low for spin with a 7 iron and TP5

770 felt incredible and was very easy to launch as well as the MC, especially for ball speed retention low in the face for 770 I would say it stayed within 2mph ball speed.

MC felt incredible and you couldn’t go wrong either way with the 770 top line being almost identical to the 921 tour in terms of thickness.
