Does anyone have the new P770 3 iron (even 4 iron) in hand and available for pictures from address? Just ordered a combo set with P770 3i-5i and would be interested to see what the longer irons look like at address, thank you!

to me they looked pretty similar from address to the previous p770 that was released few years back

I would agree with this.. This series of irons has maybe been the best release TM has done in a very long time. Pretty stellar on all fronts.

At the risk of offending, I blinked and having been let down on launch day custom order not appearing managed to get an off the shelf set with the px6.0 shafts I wanted and with the stock grips I didn’t.  Had to take the 4 iron also, but happy enough.  Coming from xforged 18 6-PW combo with  xforged UT 24,27, 30  also with px6.0.  Early notes are they seem straighter but not longer than xforged, feel not as nice, looking forward to hitting proper balls off grass in the morning.

so after a quick 18 I do like them but as we always find they were not the magic solution, feel is ok, bit clicky compared to xforged 18, but not upsettingly so.  Distance wise they definitely are not any longer, may even have lost a yard or two, need to check club lengths v xforged 18, felt shorter.  There is definitely a bit more forgiveness, thins flew better, and mishits straighter, not massively so but a little. Had a couple ballon a little into the wind more than expected, glad I got the px6.0 so I knew it wasn’t shaft.  They feel a bit lighter than the xforged for some reason, I did feel that expecting more distance I may have been holding off release a little more today. Ended up short on a couple of nice shots and then long over flag on a couple I let go on, so as get used to them may be a bit more distance.  I’m not really a shaper of shots, but could hit a nice draw into wind when needed to with possibly less worry of it getting away from you.

I have the xforged 6 iron and the Xforged UT 30 that I interchange a bit, I’d put the P770 6 iron nicely in the middle of them forgiveness wise.

Not bad at all. Pretty sure he doesn't baby his irons for resale value like folks on here lol.

I was going to suggest its Wolfs crazy swing causing the damage.. ?  But I'm sure its the chatter in the bag.  I'm getting MCs so its something i will have to deal with also.

I just want to add I spent an hour hitting balls on grass range with the p770 demo 7 iron and tried a bunch of stiff shafts! I honestly feel I could comfortably game 3 or 4 shafts. These heads are something special! And the real story here.

Only shaft I immediatly didn't get along with is the PX LZ stiff. And it was probably my swing more than the shaft.

I was looking at the combo chart TM has and they have great suggestions for the various combos. Yours looks close to theirs for that setup.

Ordered combo set on 8/22 direct from TM.  Order page no longer says “Your Custom order iron are in queue“. Also when you click on the track shipment button is says “Ready to Go”.   I’m hoping this is a good sign!!

Went with the combo set with P770 in 5 and 6 iron (standard lofts) and P7MC 7-PW (1 degree strong).  Irons look great.  The difference in size between the two models is not much.  Slighter more offset on the P770 and slightly more offset.  Wont be able to use them for several weeks with no Golf here until late October.

Can anyone compare the MC’s to MP18-SC’s?  Or which is a better comparison to the MP-18 SC’s the 770 or MC?

I found the SC difficult to hit. Not so with the MC. I think the MP20 MB are easier to hit than the 18 SC.

Turning into a disaster @TaylorMade Golf

been like this for a few years now at TM. I tried to order the TM p730 irons few years back and they were missing a a couple of the iron heads and iron shafts. Turned into a couple month wait before I decided to cancel. It's become terrible experience to order anything from them besides buying something just off the rack

Well the “ in queue “ slider miraculously came back so I guess I’ll see my clubs in November.

Got my MCs out to the range today. Amazing. So soft. Nice stock draw, but can actually fade these with some effort which has always been a challenge for me.

Has anyone tried the 770s at 790 loft specs and can compare the distance? Seen a couple of videos and seeing about a 10yard gap between the two with stock lofts...I don’t want to ‘lose’ a club per shot.

Just sold my 2017 790s and starting to panic I made a bad call

I’d imagine the 770s at 2* strong (close to the same loft as the 790) will go the same distance as the 790, given they are pretty much the exact same construction as the 790.  The bigger issue with them bent that strong may be the loss of bounce angle (depending on your swing), and the increase in offset.  The 770 are very close to the 790 in offset already.  If bent 2* strong, they will have more offset than the 790s at stock lofts.  If you are sensitive to that sort of thing, it could be an issue.

If you are that worried about distance I would have stuck with the 790’s. I made the same change as you but I would say it’s probably not one club less. It felt that way initially to me but these are plenty hot..

I sold them drunk to my mate who took them out of my bag there and then. I live in regret. Currently looking at ordering the 790s. If difference was 3-5 yards I can live with that, a full club...not so much
