New Bridgestone Irons - 200MB, 201CB, 202CBP

I'm really not sure why there is such negative feedback posts on the looks of these irons.  They look like anything else that Bridgestone has put out in the last couple of decades really.  They look simple and classic, and also for someone who can actually play golf.  Why do you need etched out laser lines all over the place for something to look sweet?  I believe that the company is done with releasing clubs to NA as a normal going forward.  You may find them in a few green grass/country club spots, but that's about it except from ordering them from Japan, or maybe an expensive fitter outlet.

Just hit the 5w and the 201CB in the net at the local golf shop. The wood was pretty nice, but I preferred the PING 425 which I hit alongside. Still need to test them both more, though.

The iron (7i) was sweet. Everything I'd expect from Bridgestone: simple, unfussy design, good look at address, and great feel. I was grinning like a little schoolboy as I hit it.

Very reminiscent of the J40CB with the cavity design? Simple, typical B'stone.

J33 line still lives in infamy as far as I'm concerned. Hard to top it they came out of the gate so strong with those. Woods too! Sad to hear another option leaving the US market, potentially. Uggh!!

No doubt the J33cb’s were beautiful irons but they were no easier to hit than many muscle back these days.  For my eye and swing, my J15cb’s are superior in every way.

It's funny, was just perusing their club archive. What a fun stroll back in time.

As great as their clubs felt over the years, I never found much forgiveness in many of the designs.

(GC Mids not included.) But their "players" designs were slightly demanding compared to some. The J36 line the lead edges were kinda sharp as I recall and dug on me a bit. Those were almost disastrous for my game. I never did hang on to any of my bstones. Favorites were the J33 Combo set. Those had the tungsten billets in the long irons back then already and a super multi level sole and soooo soft. And on closeout they were like $200 new a set. It was insane-o.

Having owned MP33 and 30, know all about cavities for show. ha!

Loved the MP33’s.  They were actually surprisingly easy to hit.

But yeah, I know what you mean by Bridgestone irons not being particularly forgiving over the years.  My brother actually still owns a set of J36pc’s.  They definitely dig on me, but the J15’s were a total revelation to me.  At the time, I was set on picking up a set of JPX850 forged as I loved them every time I demoed them...off mats.  What a disaster they were on the course for me though as somewhat of a “driver/digger”, especially along with the fact that I took them out for the first time on Bermuda in south FL on my winter getaway(I’m from NJ).

Then I returned them thinking the Z545’s would be a better option.  For some reason, I just could not get center contact on them for the life of me.  Then I finally gave the J15cb’s a go which were never even on my radar due to the intimidation factor, but saw all the glowing reviews on here about how surprisingly easy they were to hit...been in my bag ever since.  The sole design and resulting turf interaction just work so well for me.

Is this a hallow head construction similar to P790?

Which club? The CB's are a DP/CB combo, looking fwd to giving these a spin when available.

Love the jgr hf2s anything here similar??

Not sure what is being released in NA but the 202CBP would be that choice.

I was a big fan of the J15CBs. My only criticism was that the 9 and the PW got a bit big and didn't transition into the wedges as well as I like.

They are in my top 3 irons of all time along with z745 and MP5s.

The new CBs look OK to my eyes. Better than the last couple of iterations.

This...BTW, the 9 and the PW on the Z745 are about perfect size/look at address, maybe can say topline a bit thick.  But standing of the 745 PW, you feel like you have a turf scalpel in your hands that you can work any way you want.

Yeah, I REALLY miss my MP-32's, that might be one of my "favorite" ever. Loved that arched muscle or whatever it was back there. And the feel! I'd play those again!

I'll have to check out those j15's. After the digging issues, I kinda got scared off. Sad to hear them considering pulling out of the US market? Never thought they really "committed" to the US club-wise all these years. Never could figure that out? In, or out!

Still wouldn't mind a set of the DPC's that Couples played on the Champions.

BStone makes solid irons I hope they shortened the heel to toe length of the iron a bit.

Would love to heat your feedback after a few rounds.  This is making me miss my tour b cb’s.  Some of the best feeling irons I ever played.  Very forging as well.

Also, curious to see how these soles are designed.  The tour b’s had a pre-worn leading edge and pretty big sole, which was a little too big for my delivery.
