TM should have just made these as an stock option in their wedge grinds. They remind me of when Nike would have great tour options and then really cut corners with the retail options. But for a stock wedge this would be a nice grind for stock. It may say TW. But sorry it’s not.

The only technical/spec difference I can find between the standard Tiger MG2 wedge and the ones in the box set are the lie angle, is that correct? Also, I thought Tiger played x100s in all his irons/wedges, is that not the case?

No, I believe he has always played S400 in his wedges. Although it is claimed he has put like an 8 iron shaft into his wedges but I don't know if there is any proof of that.

Completely missed the boat if these are chrome with the raw face. Can anyone confirm if they are completely raw? Pictures look full raw but not sure by the description.

I am not a Tiger spec aficionado, just a fan boy. What is different about the wedge Tiger actually games compared to the TW MG2 that will be available for purchase?

I am not knocking the TM wedge itself. I was saying they should have offered these grinds from the jump. It will most likely be the best grind TM offers. But what I was meaning was it would have been nice to see TM released everything like TWs. I don’t see a bevels, leading edge... grooves to be the same. It’s also chrome not raw. It’s a watered down version of what TW plays. I know it’s advertised as the grind he plays...The grind isn’t “exactly” what he plays. Just like his irons... it’s 85% done right. But if you like stock TM wedges you will probably like this even more. But if you are going to advertise it to be exactly like TW... it’s like almost hitting a home run but hitting a triple. I was honestly going to get a set, I have a few sets from Artisan... at this point I’m going to pass on these. Just for the grooves alone.

Yeah I think the P7TW’s were a homerun. From the looks of those they look exactly like the irons he plays.

 

These wedges seem to really not be tigers actual wedges... more like a stock mg2 with tigers grinds. To my knowledge tiger doesn’t play with “raw face technology” and I think they missed the mark on these. Should have made them exactly like Tigers.

Take my money. I don't care if the face is different than what Tiger plays. His grinds sound like what every good player is looking for in a wedge, but no company really offers that grind.

I have tried contacting artisan a few times with no luck. I REALLY want a set of their wedges with the TW grind but I am in the northeast and there is now way for me to get down to texas anytime soon for a fitting. Sigh.....

the heads will be lighter, grooves will be different, leading edge won’t be blunted and of course they won’t be raw.
