Unusal Question, regarding Bandon

So im flying in to Portland, (as a single) and im renting a vehicle to drive down to bandon. would it be possible to just rent the car for the drive down, then turn it in somewhere down there, uber to bandon - stay on property and uber around the town if needed), then on departure rent the car again for the day up to Portland? so im saving money on the rental. Im realistically not going to use the car much while on site and figured it would be possible to rent like that. I haven't looked to far into it, figured there could be someone that has done this. thanks!

not advisable. You’ll be hard pressed to find an Uber in that neck of the woods and I speak from experience, car rental reservations are never 100% guaranteed so you run the risk of showing up to the counter (which btw is in north bend, 20 miles from the resort) and them not having are car. Then you have a really long walk to pdx or spending $100 to get to Eugene and another $400 for a flight getting out. but if you’re adventurous, A lot of truckers make that trek and could give you a lift for sOme companionship ;)

save the drop of fees and hassle. I used my rental daily going to range to course to course. I assume you’re playing more than one round a day and not having to wait for a shuttle in a deluge is a blessing. Or if you need to hit up PD for a grilled cheese in between playing trails and old mac, you’re saving 20 mins transport time easy. Well worth the $25/day rental car I had

Just looked on hotwire 2 separate days of rental will be about $140 and a 5 days is $201!!! The Uber ride in those places will be close to $40 each way.....thus making absolutely zero sense!!!

Agree with the above comments. Keep it simple. Having a car to go between rounds (or into town if you feel like it) is great. The shuttle service is good, but nothing like having your own traveling locker room.

With the exception of the Sheep Ranch, you can drive from any course to anywhere on property (including the Practice Area and all the clubhouses) in about five minutes. Save some money by getting a smaller rental car. You don't need much if it's just you.

There can be a steep upcharge on car rentals when you drop it off in a location other than where you picked it up.

I found the car very handy as a single. Extra shoes, socks, snacks, Easy to zip around, stocked up at the grocery with a case of water and Gatorade. “Traveling locker room” is the perfect metaphor.

After you rent your car, put the details in Autoslash.com. They will continually monitor prices to see if something is lower and email you when they find something. It is free too. Most car rentals have free cancellation. I've saved upwards of 50% off my original reservation before.
