Alta Vista Country Club in Placentia - Membership Questions

I was wondering if anyone is a member of Alta Vista or know anyone at Alta Vista and your thoughts about joining this club? I'm thinking about either joining Alta, Yorba Linda, or Hacienda.

My two cents having played all three is Hacienda is far and away the best of the three. In fact, I would say the other two are the equivalent of mid level muni's compared to Hacienda. Alta Vista has a boring layout and Yorba's back 9 is really awful. I'm sure other's will disagree but if I'm putting down money for a initiation and paying monthly dues I would want to make sure the course I was playing was fun, had great conditions, good mix of holes and great facilities including practice (which, I believe Hacienda is the best in all areas compared to to the other two except for the practice area). Can't comment on what the "membership" is like at any of the clubs and that's a big factor as you will be playing with and hanging out with (a lot) the people at each club. And nothing personal to anyone who is a member at Yorba and Alta Vista.

I'd echo what tw422 said. I just joined Hacienda, mainly because of the course/conditions. It's far superior (IMO) to the other two.

Hacienda is easily the best out of the 3. The other two clubs should only be considered if it's close to home as convenience and proximity sometimes trumps other factors. Yorba is still much nicer than Alta Vista.

haven't played the other to but hacienda's an excellent golf course especially from the championship or watson tees.

Thanks to everyone for there answers and opinions but decided to go with Alta Vista because it was more laid back, and people seemed a lot less stuffy. The people at Alta Vista are very down to earth and have enjoyed the past few weeks as a member. Granted that Hacienda is the best course I have seen in Southern California by far.

We’re thinking about joining as well. But if we can get a total 4 new members to join, their group membership initiation fee goes down to $5,000 for a a family. Maybe we can find 2 more to join?

Hacienda is on another level course wise.  Price wise is it even comparable to Alta Vista or Yorba or others?
