kids 9-10 years of age using SIM drivers

What do everyone think of kids using adult driver heads? Are they using female heads on junior shafts? My son is turing 10 soon, and all he want is a Sim driver after seeing a few other kids using them, he is a lefty currently driving about a 150 carry with a 15-20 yard roll using the Flynn driver.

my son is 9- I have seen plenty of kids at tmnts this year using SIM’s. Some are using the higher lofted ,12* or so, but several are moving into 10.5*. My son had a driver fitting the other week and he was fitted to a 10.5*. We took a demo Mavrik for the week and course testing showed that the 10.5 turned up to 11.5* was a pretty good spot for him with his recoil es440 F2 shaft. Also most all “Female” heads are the same as standard.

Thanks! Are we buying the it at a pro shop then getting it reworked or is there a place we can buy the head only?

Look at the Cobra junior driver. You may even want to get one that is last year’s model (F9). You will get more pop out of an adult head but the key is the weight. You need a light weight shaft to go in it because the club will be heavier than his Flynn club. You could get a Flynn shaft or a really light women’s shaft. Until your clubhead speed gets around 80mph you won’t see a real difference from one adult head to another. So definitely look into an adult head but save yourself some money and get something used.

Look into m6 in ladies shaft and cut to US Kids driver length. Tournament playing Kids will go through drivers every year.

Thanks! When you said tournament kids will go through drivers every year, do you mean the driver head need to be replaced due to the amount of balls it has hit?

Swing speed for junior golfers will jump by as much as 10 mph, and will they will grow 3~5" every year.

Driver loft will change, length will change, shaft stiffness will change.

Highly unlikely whatever he plays will fit him next year.

We went through new driver every year, and I consider myself frugal compared to others.
