I completely understand what you guys are saying about the tx being different. I have the 70tx rdx black in the bag. Been a t1100 and a hulk 70tx guy since they came out. To

me this is the best feeling px shaft to date. I was a little concerned about the stated soft butt section of this shaft. A white board profile to me is loose and have typically preferred a stiffer handle.

That being said the rdx black doesn’t feel loose to me at all. I think the softer handle is relative and definitely stiffer than its Mitsubishi counterpart. I haven’t been on a monitor to check

numbers, but to my eye it’s a Flatter flight than either the hulk and the t1100.

I will also add that this shaft takes easy swings and full out swings and consistently feels like it loads the same with each.

l don’t know if I will stick to it as long as my hulk because it’s early and season is almost over, but for now it’s in the bag over the hulk, t1100, and my auto flex 505 xx.

Fantastic info. This was exactly my concern coming from a whiteboard to an RDX Black. I'm sold, ordering one up ASAP.

I have a stock 6.5 RDX in my TSi3. The “Hexcel” symbol is on the shaft. Oddly enough I was fit into this shaft with a fairly low swing speed (103-105 ish). I get up to 110 if I hammer on it, and that’s where I get better results. I guess that’s what I’m doing from now on 🤷‍♂️

Odd though that the shaft on the Titleist website has the weight at 64 grams. True Temper’s website has it at 59 grams?

The weights on TT's website are often very loose/general.

@400yards+did you end up tipping it?

what’s your typical SS, path, AOA and ball speed?

I just ordered one and I top out at 170BS but I find this shaft for some reason significant increased my AOA vs my Atmos black (60g 6.5 untipped at 45”)

i went 70 TX as I just don’t care for sub 70 shafts on the course. They’re LM gems for me but once I’m on course I’m out of sync

@Valtielcurious on your thoughts as well

I ended up tipping it .5” and am playing it at 45.5” with a 8.0 sim with the head weight at 202. I usually tip a shafts brains out because of the way I load it, but the autoflex has made me kind of rethink things. I also knew that this one is traditionally balanced and I didn’t want a lot of head weight.. I tend to do better around d2-d3.  Final product was d3 in this build.

About my swing I’m usually around 120, but can take it up to 130 on a driving range. I have been typically low ball speed as of late from not playing as much as I used to. I am usually 175ish on course swing with low to mid 180s on the range swing. My delivery is typically +2 to +3 degrees and I’m a fairly mid spin guy. I want to keep my spin rate around 2400 while playing a peeler to the right. Typical carry around 310.  I didn’t notice the rdx really changing my initial launch but it is surprisingly flat at peak height. Peak height I would say to my eye is just north of 100ft, with a hot decent angle. Can’t wait to test on flight scope.

My last 3 driver shafts...

Ventus Black

Motore X F1

Tensei CK Pro White

bought the shiny Blue RDX 60 TX...it’s my favorite. Best feel and long. The weight/balance of the shaft is perfect for me. I’m not sure if it’s counterbalanced but I bumped up to 45.5” with TSi3 and swing weights at D3. Going to stick with this for a while. Going to try RDX 70 in 3 wood vs. my Tensei CK Pro White 70 TX.

Curious to hear more about your findings in both the driver and 3 wood. I've played VB and TPW in the driver and long time TPW user in the 3 wood.

Is that SW with the standard weight head installed? Thanks!

In theory you should fit the black based on your last few shafts. Thinking there is something magic in this blue shaft. Thanks for sharing.

Tried this shaft recently with the new Titleist TSi 3 & 2 8 degree head and it was was launching between a 13 - 14 degree launch angle consistently. It felt great but not as stiff as you would think for an X-stiff shaft.

I don’t agree with your sense of stiffness. I think the better way to describe is it’s more smooth than your traditional X flex, while still holding up.

I wonder if they are making an RDX hybrid shaft. There was a HZRDUS Black and Smoke Black, so I'm guessing an RDX Black should follow.

I get my woods built by JD. He's great.

Why would the blue be $125 more than the black?

This one is the small batch. So it has fancier pant and is available in TX. I know they charge more for small batch.

I would go with a black anyway, TX same price as any other, but the black isn't a small batch?

I am guessing not.. Not 100% sure though. I have a RDX black 6.5 that came with my TSi3. I like it. But I want to try the blue..

That was my thought as well and typically I play soft butt/stiff mid/stiff tip type shafts. Downside is feel is always a little numb compared to a soft mid type of shaft. I think the butt and tip are so stable in this shaft that it performs differently than previous blue profile shafts. I’m pretty sure there is slight counterbalance which, typically, don’t suit me either.

Maybe I just had a great day driving the ball but its very stable despite having a kick sensation of a blue profile shaft. I’ll keep feeding info as I play more with it. Might be an absolute killer in a 3 wood.

Didn’t see RDX blue available in FW length through JD. Agreed they are very good, purchased the smoke green from him.  Excellent customer service and communication.

Thats the thing.

With @Fujikura Golf...the shaft you buy on the rack is the same shaft the pros play and the 'technology' in the shaft. There is no guessing as to what you're buying or what was skimped on. (Besides the OEM made-for non-velocore Ventus which I hate Fujikura for agreeing to, but 100% understand why they did it financially).

With ProjectX and Mitsubishi...the shaft you buy is a complete crapshoot as to where it's made, what tech is in it compared to the 'tour' or 'TX' models, small batch and 'made-for' models and etc.

I'll stick with Fuji. Plus Fuji shafts dont feel like hollow graphite fishing rods, like HZRDUS models do.

Very curious on this problem....reached out to true sports to see what they say, but anyone have the answer to whether the  non TX models are the same shaft?  Maybe having the TX model tipped extra?  Besides the fancy paint job.  With Cobra releasing them part of their lineup, might be a cheaper alternative if could find one and tip it extra....

Or you could not worry at all and get the TX because you’re a degenerate otherwise for suggesting such things on WRX. Pfft tipping a stock flex vs getting a TX 😂😂😂

For the record....this was the response I got from True temper..

"The TX will be a slightly different profile but nothing overly drastic just stiffer shaft. The tip is slightly stronger. The shafts all have the same counterbalanced profile with a softer mid-section"

Sounds like neither are small batch. The Black is a stock offering, same you get from the OEM's. The Blue is PVD.

I think the PVD is the small batch only offering though. I could be wrong.. I dunno. There is a blue model coming out with the Cobra RAD that one is the standard matte black with blue lettering.
