So, apparent Lyds has fired another coach. Golfer Lydia Ko splits with another coach after Jorge Parada says he's been jettisoned

such a shame. I have no clue what’s going on other than what I read in headlines but she was so talented and fun to cheer for.

No surprise, and good for her. It's all about the results. Should she stick with a coach when her stats haven't budged in years, and has only won once in over 3 seasons?

Agree with above, hate to see her struggle as she seems like such a genuine person. When she came out as a teenager and was winning everything she made it look so easy and effortless. Nothing funky about her swing, just took it back and swung with ease. I obviously don't have a clue but I would bet like all of us some of her issues are between the ears.

We'll see how it goes once the tour starts up again. It is hard to tell exactly due to camera angles, but to me it looks like her path is a bit more neutral or out to in (slightly) again. The backswing / transition is still different vs. her early years on tour, but I would be interested in seeing what type of ball flight she is playing right now.

One week anything can happen but to be even a Top 10 player for a sustained period (better part of two seasons) she probably needs to hit it ~260 and in the fairway more than she has been.

Her problems started many years ago but I also think the fact she completely changed her body type has unintended consequences. A couple years in we should see any negative effects stabilize. For the pro's the margins make all the difference and changing your body type so drastically can take a little time to sort out.

As per quotes in NZ press and going by Sean Foley's Instagram they've been working together for about 6 weeks now, also reported the previous coach Parada only informed this week via facetime call he's no longer required.... I hope it's been handled more professionally than that.

Her swing looks great, way more speed, legs look bigger and stronger, she's a great putter( well used to be) somehow within her swing she needs to find a repeatable dependable swing that can get her 14 + greens a round and start consistantly shooting under par before she can ever consider winning again .... no matter how talented she is her brain must be turned to mush after the going ons of the last few years.

Social Distancing probably contributed to the FaceTime dismissal. Better than a phonecall if you ask me (or gasp, text). I saw her play on the GolfZon matches, and it's weird that she isn't very consistent anymore. She's pretty short distance wise and isn't very accurate. It was clear they weren't comfortable playing on the system, but her swing just seemed She lost a ton of weight, but didn't seem to get stronger.

Her short game is so good, as evidenced by her still decent scoring average even though she struggles to be elite getting to the green. Maybe Foley can help her get more birdies to get back to elite.

I thought her swing looks better on yesterday's telecast and it looks like she put on little weight. Not fat or anything but looks fitter than earlier this year. Hope her game gets better.

Listening to Lydia's interviews and the commentary on her training this year, I find myself wondering (as I did at that time); Why didn't she go the strength training route instead of the cardio route back in 2017 or 2018?

I suspect that at that particular period in life, Lydia was more focused on "growing up" ... she was maturing from teenaged girl to young adult. So for many people men and women, but for women in particular, body image is important to them and that is what teenaged girls struggle with. Regardless, Lydia seems to have ample mental strength to cope with the vagaries of life and celebrity. She seems very focused now and perhaps that will lead to continued improvement by Lydia. I should stress that this merely my observations and speculation looking in from afar.

Yeah, it's going to sting, but a lot of positives this week. She averaged 267 yds off the tee this week, compared to less than 250 for the past few years.

It's more the mental. Finally made it into a lead (not even contention, but the actual lead) and to pretty much choke it away, that's going to hurt a lot.

I find it interesting that Jason Hamilton is back on her bag. From all public accounts, it didn't end well between the two of them. That had to have been an interesting conversation asking him to come back (didn't he pick up a pretty good player last year too?). I sense that between her letter and what seems like a humbling conversation here she is in a better place mentally (at least before today's finish).

Don't have a strong feeling about how she will do going forward. Game has looked good so far but a lot of players are absent, and you only get so many chances per year to win (you need to play well when no one else lights it up, make a couple of critical 5-10 footers, etc). Hope she does well but we'll see...

Actually I should have said strength and cardio combined route. Because the muscle mass she's trying to add now she could have been adding during this time.

I've wondered if in some cases if she's gotten the best advice available to her. If she's used her accomplishments and status to source numerous expert opinions and considered the best information to chart out her path.

Conventional wisdom says poor ball striking puts pressure on one's putting. The flipside is that good ball striking frees one up on the green. She seems to be very much at ease out there.

This would make for a terrific case study ... if one could avail themselves of data such as that provided by "shotlink" ... but alas.
