Grand Canyon Trip - Can Only Play Once

The girlfriend and I are flying into Vegas and doing the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Page, Scottsdale and maybe Flagstaff. No plan to spend any time in Vegas.

I got approval for one round of golf. Looking for a recommendation on what course to play - would like the most scenic course and would have to be public.

I did the Grand Canyon Trip a few years back and played the Sedona Golf Resort. I birdied the 10th par three at 210 yards and just looked up the course scorecard to confirm the course. Great 18 in the Red Rocks. I also played Camelback in Scottsdale and somewhere else I can't remember but Sedona is the one that was so scenic.

On a side note, I just did the Mighty 5 in Utah along with 3 state parks but no golf. The hiking was tremendous and while Zion was a little crowded and Bryce a little less, I found Grand Staircase Escalante just outside of Bryce to be pretty remote and hardly traveled if you like to day hike and not see people.

Sand Hollow in the St. George area. I have not played it yet but it is on my list. Looks fantastic and reviews are really good.

Sand Hollow, Wickenburg Ranch, Quintero and of course Wolf Creek

Sedona GR is not worth the play for 1 round.

I lived in Sedona for 7 years. Sedona Golf Resort is very nice with great views. I lived a few miles from Seven Canyons. Not sure if it is still public allowed. Every single hole is a post card view. Some quirky holes but that is only because it is surrounded on all 4 sides by red rock mountains. You'll never play any course like this one again, unless you only live a few miles away!!?

My managers husband was the golf pro when I lived there. I lived right on the other side of that big mountain in the pics. That's Thunder Mountain in Sedona.

Another vote for Sand Hollow or the new course Copper Rock in Hurricane.

 

Seven Canyons is beautiful but the layout leaves a lot to be desired.

That three or four hole stretch on the back nine at Sand Hollow is pretty spectacular.

its funny when I hear people rave about the views at seven Canyons, it’s like hello you’re in Sedona, the views are literally everywhere haha
