Minnesota WRX'ers.. Looking for opinions on Forest Hills Golf Club

Hello,

A buddy of mine and I are looking at this Club as a potential option. We are both under 35 and have Girlfriend's that are just learning the game/getting into it.

Anyone have thoughts on this place? It seems very reasonably priced compared to other MN private joints.

Below is a snippet of info from their Head Pro/Membership director on current promotions.

Starting August 15th, we are offering our Fall Promo. New members pay the onetime $300 stock and your first 3 months of dues (Around $188/month) down at the time of joining. Your first membership year would officially begin May 1st of 2021 and run through April 30th, 2023.

You would not have any dues payments due until August 1st of next year 2021 but can play right away starting August 15th, 2020.

Any help appreciated!

I have played there over the years, but haven’t been out there in a long time.

My recollection is that it is a solid small-town course, similar in style to places like Hastings, Island View, New Richmond, LeSeuer. At one point it was fully private. I don’t know if that is the case right now as my recollection is that they have had times online.

Course was always solid and in good shape. Not at the level of top privates in town, but the cost isn’t close either.

If there isn’t a massive commitment if it doesn’t work out and the drive isn’t too bad, seems like it could be a good option.

It is still a private facility. The tee times that are available on golf now are an exchange deal for the POS system in the pro shop and website design/maintence. The locker rooms just got remodeled and are very nice. The course is always in great shape. 15 is a problem hole around the lake, but the club is looking into solutions to fix the 50 yd problem area of the fairway without the $1.5 mil. architect plan that was submitted. It's a great club, especially for the cost.

FYI, not sure if a typo or not, but dues would start April of 2021, not August.
