Golf on PS4 - for better or worse?

PAST: it's been 16 years since I last played Golf on a gaming console (PS2 Tiger Woods PGA 2004).

Things I remember:

start as a beginner, using clubs / skill rating that stops you hitting a decent length, which got a bit frustrating as couldn't hit as descent as real life.eventually became gimmicky fun, ridiculous shots, driving it +350 yards, with bling equipment, holes in one etc.TODAY:

Here in VIC (Australia), a day after my first round with new clubs and best score for years, we've been hit the worst lock-down rules in the world for the next +6 weeks, There's a curfew and can only go out within 5km from home to shop for essentials, thus no opportunity to enjoy yourself outside or visit friends, let alone play golf,have grown up a bit, but still play PS4 at times and shattered until can get back on course.Therefore to pass time/switch off i'm thinking of downloading a PS4 golf game and seek the following insights:

if you have a golf game on console - what is it and do you recommendforget about it, stick to car racing or shooting games, or find something better to do, spend more time on here reading reviews and Netflixing.chances it'll make me worse / agitated when i get back to actual golf with unreal expectations Cheers

PGA Tour 2K21 is about to come out...that's about the only real choice...

PGA Tour 2K19 is available but at this point I'd wait and get the new one. I have this one. It doesn't have any PGA players in it our on the Leaderboard but you can edit the names...

I find the putting grid to be off at times and I play better on the real course vs the courses that were made by the developers...some user made courses even play better than the made up developer courses

Everybodys golf is kinda like something you'd see on Nintendo. I have it also and it's pretty mindless fun. Think I bought it on sale for $10

Everybody's Golf is the new version of Hot Shots Golf. It is an arcade style golf game that plays like Mario golf. I really enjoyed it, but it uses a 3 click style swing (click X to start swing, click X on power, click X on accuracy). As Str8Putt said, there is Golf Club (i think GC2, GC2k19 PGA) with the newest game about to come out in a few days. Golf club is a simulation style golf game that is much more difficult than the old Tiger games. I think its great because you don't start out shooting -18. There are a few real courses, but the bread and butter of Golf Club is the course design. There are thousands of courses available and you can play just about whatever you want (some famous courses you have to search by different names ie: Firethorn National is a famous course in East Georgia.

PGA 2K21 comes out in 2-3 weeks. Im not a big gamer but during this quarantine/WFH I will def be giving it a shot.

I noted the 2K19 one available last night and glad I didn't pull the trigger as no sense paying $69AUD if 2K21 is coming out... will obtain it one way or the other in 2-3 weeks. @alexdaqt3, let me know when keen for a round.

Golden Tee and Golf Clash on android/ios are free and somewhat entertaining.

Waiting to see what comes out with the PS5. I currently only have a PS3, so it's going to be a nice upgrade.
