Going to my first professional golf tournament that being the 2019 U.S. Open and watching tiger in person.

My favorite major championship memory is attending Sunday’s round of the 2001 pga championship at Atlanta Athletic Club, which also happened to be my 9th birthday. I didn’t know too much about golf yet, but it was incredible to watch professional golf at it’s highest level in person. It was a huge factor for me in discovering my love for the game, and I will never forget the sight and sound of David Toms sinking his winning putt.

Easy. The 2005 U.S. Open in Pinehurst. I had just finished several weeks of training at nearby Ft. Bragg and was leaving to drive back to my unit in DC when I took the opportunity to stop by and watch the Friday round. I remember walking up to the 10th tee as Tiger's group was getting ready to hit. The crowd felt like it was 20 deep and I couldn't see a thing. Then as Tiger took the tee and lined up his shot, there was a break in the crowd and I had a clear view! I remember watching Tiger hit and having the distinct sensation of the whoosh of the ball traveling down the fairway. It was not a sound I had ever heard a golf ball make before. I had a blast walking the grounds and following Tiger's group among many others that day. I'm out of the military now but live not too far away from Pinehurst. I get down there whenever I can and every time I do I think of that amazing day in 2005.

My most memorable experience was when I got to attend the 2013 Masters and see Arnie, Jack, and Gary play in the par 3 contest. It was the experience of a lifetime to see 3 legends all in the same place, especially given that the following year was the last Arnie played in the par 3.
