I was watching the practice range on the Golf Channel and Tiger pulled a putter with weights in the sole.

Saw that also. Watching him on the putting green, it clearly shows a larger cherry dot on the heel.

he practiced with a different one at the Open last year also. unsure if it's the same or different this time but it's one of the newer SC Tour models.

His old rusty trusty is getting pretty banged up. In 2018, he had a TM putter in the bag at the PGA and did fairly well.

This is nothing new. He has tested putters like this for a while. It is typically for slower green as his long time scotty is very light by today's standards. I would not think slow greens would be in issue this week though. So must be trying something new.

Since I'm nuts I bought a Newport 2 Special Select and changed the weights and grip to nearly match Tiger's specs. It is WILD how light it is.

I just got a 330g Studio Stainless which is a couple grams heavier than Tiger's and I absolutely love it! Putters have gotten so heavy today it makes it so difficult to have feel on the greens.

TWs new putter is called “Tour Type” putter from SC. He will be using it in competition this week.
