Guess it must be my grips making the club feel different then. The 54 have golf pride m 31 and the older mp32 have lamkin crossline grips same shafts  ??

Also, check the length of the 32 vs the 54. Even a 1/2" off will make one feel heavier or lighter.

Nice going with the 54s, glad to hear a few of us still like them.  The 53s were more popular and well regarded, but I personally like the look of the 54s better, and they have a similar design with the cavity to pocket cavity progression plus a muscle behind the sweet spot.  They still check all the boxes for me - distance consistency and control, some forgiveness, that addictive feel...

Some didn't like the high ball flight of the 54s, but you can always bend a little strong.  As far as lightness, I'm in the camp of playing with lead tape by feel.  The pocket cavities from 7 iron up make a nice hiding spot for it.  Maybe regrip one of the irons with a Lamkin Crossline for better comparison to your 32s.

Because of this thread, I threw my MP54 set in the bag yesterday and they felt amazing. Going to keep them in for a while I think. So easy to hit.

I played the MP-32s for years until I wore the grooves down to the point they became unplayable. They were and probably always will be my favorite set of irons.

I switched to the Titliest AP2s not long after they came out in 2012 or so and have been very happy with them. They are a little more forgiving but still look really clean at address. Since I don't play anywhere near as much as I used to the grooves in them are still fine and having that extra bit of forgiveness doesn't hurt.

No, but I was coming from JPX 825 Pro when I put the 54s in my bag, and the head weights are almost identical.

The 32s are lighter according to the Maltby specs (https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/MPF_MIZUNO.pdf).  6i comes in at 254 grams for the MP32 vs 260 grams for the MP54.

I wonder if the perception in weight difference is due to shafts.  Are you playing the same shafts in both sets?

I have X100s in my 54s.  Rifle 6.5s in my 32s.   And they definitely feel different.  I prefer the X100s, but that's what was also in my 825 Pros.

That's just true for the clubhead they tested, for both, not necessarily an across-the-board fact.  They could have received a clubhead on the heavy end of the tolerance in one set, and one from the light side of tolerance in the other.

Weight spec tolerance is usually +/- 3 grams.
