Do you find having an "unmatched" bag an issue?

Mine is mixed but mostly callaway. I’ve been buying to fill out my bag or replacing stuff I started with through callaway pre-owned mostly.

I’m actually thinking of pulling my current 7 iron out of the bag and replacing it with a six of another set. Not even close to looks or brand.

I used to care but I’ve now developed a more Langer like approach where each club has a job to do.

For me, I want to play timeless clubs that give me the best value for my money and still keeps up with today's offerings regardless of brand. Your scorecard doesn't care. Ping and Mizuno irons

Ping and Vokey wedges

Mostly Scotty and Ping putters but with a Piretti and some Yes mixed in as well

Big titleist fan but I play what’s been working. All titleist except 3 wood and putter for me. Might do Mizuno wedges for my next ones as these wear out.

I don't mind having a lot of brands but prefer to have the same brand in my woods, same brand in irons, same brand in wedges. They can be three different brands I just prefer for those sections of my bag to match up. Not sure if it's just mental, but that's generally how I set up my bag.

My bag is a mut like most peoples. But its not money. You could slide me that black AMEX in your pocket and turn me loose at a golf shop and I would walk out with bag just as mixed up and muddled as the one I now play.

Looks like I'm not alone judging by the responses.

Yeah, the shaft flex and weight probably has a big feel on how a set plays and what one can expect from a swing.

Only part of the bag I have a problem with is moving from my irons to wedges.

I have ping glide forged 54 and 60 but a Glide 2.0 in the 50. Play p790 irons and its a lot changes between the SW, GW, and PW.

To me the 2.0 is bigger than the rest of them which is a little weird

I could end up with a bag all Titleist except for a Nike CPR Hybrid.

But what the heart wants will have a Taylormade fairway wood, a Joe Phillips custom grind PW as a gap wedge from the early seventies (Wilson or Hagen), A Macgregor Tourney Custom sand wedge with a custom sole grind and one of my 8802 or 8813 putters.

My brain will insist on a Callaway gap wedge and either diablo a Hogan Special W Grind sand wedge or a RomaRo Alcobaca 58 and a Ping Anser 2 putter.

The towel has to match the bag color.

 

Outside of that I havent ever worried about the tools in the bag. Just make sure they work haha.

Currently my set is matching but next season I’ll probably play the Ben Hogan Icon 6-8-PW and might get the Sim driver.

 

When I was unmatched I had no issue, I also have no issue being matched. I tend to hear “where are all your clubs?” more than “aRE YOu A tITLeIsT STafFer?”
