Stiff or X flex in irons?

So I have been looking around for my new set of irons. Playing at a 6 at the end of the season. Ive been fitted for anything from s300s, x100s, rifle, 6.0, 6.5, and 7.0s. Am I going to notice a big diffference say 6.0 to the 7.0 or the s300 to the x100? Theyre going to be 1/4in over std. length. Im 6'5 with 36.5 wrist to floor measurement. Driver swing speed is 115. I would like to hear what everyone hear thinks. Because i am pretty confused and I need to get my irons ASAP. What would you reccommend because all of the fitters I have been to have been all over the place.

I have a similar driver SS and play X flex in all my clubs. I like the X flex because it tightens the shot pattern and helps keep the ball down a bit, which is good for a high ball hitter like myself.

If you are between flexes, the rule of thumb is that you go stiffer (X flex) for control and softer (S flex) for distance.

I'm 45, average height/weight, 105 mph driver swing speed and I play X100s. I don't think there is much difference between x100 and s300, personally. In Project X I'm at 6.5.

i would recomend stiff in the irons due to many people mainting a smooth swing focusing on tempo wiht the irons, while many go after the driver

Go for the softer option, dont have to swing as hard and you can get away with a lot more, just to let you know i as speaking to the cleveland rep last month and he showed me what a lot of the guys were playin on a european tour event and a lot of guys were playin s flex not as many were playing x as you might think, if i remember rightly Monty was using a comp with a grafalloy prolite stiff in it a halo with his yonex shaft in it too think that was a stiff also and some cg10 wedges.

I would agree in going for the softer option. My dad has a similar club speed and goes for x-flex in the driver and three wood but stiff in irons and wedges as he is swinging easier to try and get more control. If you find the 6.0 rifles good I would say they are similar to S300s in dynamic golds. It's important to access how your current clubs play. If you are happy with the ball flight with the current shafts, stick with it.
