I just found out that there's shortages of certain shafts and grips with Mizuno. If no specific preference, I would ask Mizuno which one they have in stock. Ive been waiting in the MMC 20 since August because of shortages.  Unless you don't mind waiting.  Otherwise my preference is Lamkin

I’m in Alberta,Canada and it just snowed on the weekends and I won’t see green grass for 6 months, so I’m in no rush unfortunately. Not sure why I live here

I've played MCC+4 for a couple of years. They get slick too fast even if you clean them frequently. I am going MCC this time but in my experience, Lamkins last longer - that looks like a solid grip.

Ordered my JPX-921HM from Global Golf: 5 - PW, Recoil 95 F3.

Now I need a 4 iron / utility

Question: what's more forgiving the HM 4 iron or the MP18 MCC?

Should HM 4 iron and I bet its not even close.

I prefer Lamkin over GP in general but I do not care for the multicompounds that have been so popular over the years. The bottom hand part has always gotten slick sooner than I thought it should have.  The corded part is just fine but the the lower right hand is my issue with them.

no clue if Lamkin’s new attempt will fare any better but would try them as they couldn’t be worse, imo.

Supposedly GP has a new rubber compound - clubmaker had the new MCC and the material did feel better - slightly softer/tackier.

Totally agree with this. Multicompound grips would certainly make my "most overrated things in golf" list.

For as expensive as they are, I could never justify how quick they went slick on the bottom half.  I moved on rather quickly.

I haven't done it, but someone advised me to hit the multi-cord with sandpaper.

I recall seeing a post about the MCC and that you have to stay away from the colored ones. Apparently the non-gray use a dye that makes them slick.

I found the +4 to hold up better than the standard MCC in terms of getting slick. Never tried a different color than grey. If you want ultimate longevity, Go Leather. Iron faces wear quicker than those

Currenlty have 3 sets of clubs, all with different grips. For the record, I've always been a MCC guy.

Hogan Ptx Pro- grips suck. Period.

Miz 919 Forged with MMC +4. Very good.

Miz 921 Metal Pro with Lmkin Hybrid ST+2. Went into this set certain I'd swap them out for MCC, but now I'm thinking I will keep them on. They are pretty nice.

This grip talk reminded me that I wanted to transition to mcc+4 tour velvets. Glad this came up...still had time to update my 921 order.

I tinkered around with a few different grips, but when I got a stock set with golf pride tour velvets, I felt right at home. Why change?

Same grips for years, midsize. No glove. They changed my game, especially when humid or raining. No issues.

Was trying to get Sonar Plus put on mine but Mizuno doesn’t do those. Only the Sonar Tour.

so I’m going with the Tour Velvet plus 4.

They don’t offer them.  I tried placing my order with the Sonar plus as well.  They will get them I believe if you request but it’s not a stock offering.  So I switched to tour velvet +4.

wanted the sonar tho.  May switch them out later.

I picked up a set of 4-gap jpx 921 forged today.   They have modus 120 stiff. Coming from p760 with dg120 s300.

First round today was fantastic.  Slightly higher trajectory,  which I really needed.   Feel is fantastic and turf interaction is good.

Distance is even with p760.  Ball comes off with a solid thump that doesn't feel jumpy or hot, just controlled.

Forgiveness seems to be excellent.
