Did the same myself and totally satisfied, obviously everyone's different in what they look for, but IMO you want be disappointed !!!

I basically did the same, but went HM for my 5 and 6 iron (did not get a 4).  I think I should have stuck with the HMP for the 5 and 6 irons, but only time will tell.

I must say I really enjoyed the last couple of rounds with these before our season in AB shut down. All 3 were 75 or less with 2 9’s at -1 and -2 respectively.

it’s down to the ZX7 or these the make the bag for 2021, but first impressions were great, especially for those on the fence that use the 4/5 irons primarily off the tee

How does Mizuno's "standard" length compare to Callaway, Taylormade etc..?

Are they actually 1/4 inch longer than any other manufacturers current sets of irons?

I would double check @getitdaily

i ordered the 921 Tour for myself and the 7MC for my buddy and I compared them and the 7MC was 1/4” under at standard lengths.
If I’m by my buddy’s shop tomorrow morning I will just grab both sets OTR and take a picture.

My PXG 0311 were ordered plus 1/4” at 37.5 for 7i.  The standard Mizuno 921FORGED 7i was 37.5 I’m pretty sure. No clue if that’s standard all the way thru or just for 7i

I checked tgw and they had the specs listed. I didn't bother to check OEM websites...to many "clicks".

I am thinking about buying a 4 and 5 Forged to combo my Tours. The 4 iron has punished me a couple of times lately.

. . .

This is exactly how I ordered my set. Forged 4 (-1º) and 5 (-2º) with Tour 6-PW.  I'm hoping to get out to the dome (snowing here) in a day or so to give them a whirl.  I can compare them directly with the P7MC's I used at the end of the season

Hope the 4i forged is fairly  forgiving.  Probably should have gone HMP just because, but went full set of forged.

Traditionally, Mizuno iron length is a bit shorter than other OEM's. Over the last cycles, they've matched other OEMS with a 38 inch 5 iron without grip. The grip cap ads 1/4 inch and you do not count the grip cap.

Ironically, some OEMs have now increased length in the longer irons beyond Mizuno's specs.

again though we are talking 1/4” - not much.

Just an example, a good friend of mine bought a set of P790 +1/2" since he's been playing them he said by just making sure his hands are positioned slightly lower on the grip (obviously since there longer than standard) he can't believe the control he's getting with the irons. Again just throwing this out there to therealjonzone's point. Hope it helps, but ultimately its an individual preference.

Solid response @SwingMan

very well explained from the MP18-20 transition and 919-921.

they don’t have anyone on tour using a  919 or 921 Tour 3 iron, so this is quite comical that no 3 iron is a deal breaker.

If it’s that important keep your 3 iron from the 919 and go 4-P, but based on the fact I haven’t seen your WITB, it’s safe to assume you’re better off in any number of 3 iron alternatives similar to almost all tour staff regardless of OEM

So just because tour pro's don't run 3 irons, no one else is allowed to either huh?   That's laughable.

Mizuno said they were not making the 3i because no one on Tour is using it as stated above.  The 3i in the Tour apparentely lacks marketability/sales. I'd take a cue from the Tour and try an HMB in that spot. But that's just me if I had speed. I'm trying to decide whether I have enough speed for a HMB 4i. Will do so after I get the 5-PW.

Not the point. It was specific from Chris Voshall, Engineer and brand advocate at Mizuno stating why would they waste time and resources in investing in a tour 3 iron when the best players in the world don’t ask for it.

Carry on

Seem to be accomplishing it at the moment with the 919 tours I have.  I hit it 3-5 times a round off the tee to set up approach yardages and out of fairways to long par 5's.   Stingers in windy conditions are pretty useful with it as well.

Well aware of who said it.  Just stupid to eliminate a special order to please people outside the .00003% of golfers.

I thought 3 irons were going by the wayside given hybrids and golfers going back to using higher lofted woods?  And if the concern is hitting a really long iron from the rough in front of the tee-box due to a topped tee-shot, maybe the fault isn't Mizuno's not making a 3 iron...lol.  Just kidding of course - everyone has their preferences.

I agree! I’ve ordered the full set and also wish there was a 3i. For myself, I find my misses aren’t  as consequential  with a 3i vs a hook machine hybrid. I do have a hybrid now that works well and I will swap the two in and out of the bag depending on weather. It’s not a deal breaker for me I just need something that is going to fly 235-240 and my current 3i does that very well. So maybe mp-hmb.

I still carry a mp30 2 iron if the weather is less than ideal and my 4 wood becomes a balloon machine.

My 921 Tours and T20 wedges took 5 weeks in Australia if that's any use.

The honeymoon period continues. Ridiculously consistent. Love em.

Mizuno is quoting 3 weeks on their instagram page. I ordered custom 921forged on 10/15 and i'm dieing to get a round or two in before the weather turns crappy.

Fitter told me to call in early November to check on status. I plan on calling the minute they open 11/1.

Hmm hope that’s right.  My fitter talked to the rep and said they were 1 week out after receiving tons of 921 heads in.   Hope he is right, but doubtful. I ordered this past week 921FORGED 4-PW
