I've got a set of Forged and Hot Metal Pros in queue! Cannot WAIT to hit them. It'll be my first Mizuno experience, but people I respect swear by them.

Someone in the other thread mentioned that there were options from BB&FCO for ferrules. Haven't put in an order yet so don't know if true or not

Can you provide link? I can't find that post.

I know they did a collaboration with BB&FCO on the copper finished MP-20 irons but I can't imagine that they would offer it on regular "production" sets. I imagine that coordinating that would be a nightmare for Mizuno.

So these are the new shaft options or the current because the new irons for instance in the hot metal are the project XLZ black the Nippon Neo 950 and I just didn’t see any of those

Good catch definitely old list.  Can’t believe they haven’t listed the new shaft list with the pretend order date of 8/31.  I say pretend cuz the largest golf retailer in California doesn’t have the fitting heads yet!!!

There is a link to a website it opens and I don’t know why but every time you put those guys name in there my golf spy it changes the text around and says something about spam any idea why it does that?

Go through this website and you’ll see the shaft options for the different irons at least the stock offering

https://Not allowed because of spam.com/mizuno-jpx921-irons-and-jpx-fli-hi-hybrids/

Still need the full shaft list for 921 series, not just the stock offerings.  I can’t order without knowing my choices.  Maybe in another week it’ll be available.

I was talking to the guy that does my fittings how I was waiting for the newer software and the optimizer to come out and from what I understand well this is what I was told about some shaft options, anybody who has a higher swing speed that uses like a KBS tour or project X there are no new shafts I don’t know if that’ll help

I have the MP-18 MMCs and am surprised at the loft differences between my clubs and the 921 tours. Anyone know why there’s a few degree difference? It was my understanding that the JPX line was more towards the aggressive player.

Lofts have nothing to do with being geared towards a playing style. Loft is more about how the certain club/club design performs. The MMC have the titanium pad and shallow cavity (lowering the CG) in these irons which probably give a bit more ball speed than the solid metal shallow cavity like the Tour. Reducing loft will bring the ball flight down a shade yet achieve an appropriate peak height for each club.

Shame not one graphite iron option I like...

I wish club manufacturers would offer more graphite options.  I'm 42 years old and this body is leaning towards going graphite, but need something with some weight (110g-120g) for my swing.  All the graphite are usually (80g -95g) unfortunately.

Offering the 921 forged in only a 4 & 5 iron for lefties may just be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of from a company. Really Mizuno!!?? You couldn't afford the LH dies for 6 more heads?

This is what they have been doing since mp20. For me it is working out because I prefer the tours but they will never make everyone happy unless they make them all. My assumption is they will go back to just making the forged after this release since people complain no matter what they do. If they make all the forged heads and then no 4,5 in the tour you don't have two complete sets and need different badging. They only want to make one set you just have to live with it unfortunately and I have complained a lot in the past it just isn't a priority for them. Apparently not enough demand in lefty, which I always have felt is a theory that should be tested (obviously if you only make one set and every other manufacturer sells basically all sets in lefty, you aren't going to sell many since the one set you make may not suit every LH golfer).

I understand. But Mizuno makes wonderful golf equipment and yet they act like a small time operation. And I also understand that someone will come on here and post that he's tired of listening to lefties whine but I guarantee if the tables were turned they would feel the same way.

I'm just wondering what to do about a 3 iron. The hot metal pro 4 iron looks like a decent option but carrying two 4 irons just doesn't feel right. Wonder how well the HMB would blend with the 921 Tours.

I had the same thought.  I quite like those heads that have no number on the bottom that you occasionally see on tour.  I could probably deal with two 4 irons though.

I have the same feeling trying to figure out how to combine a set of tours and forged. The loft difference is almost too big to have a traditional mixed set. I just wanted the forged in the 4 and 5 iron.

As a fellow leftie I feel the same way. I first switched to the Mizuno in the early 2000s because Titleist didn't make what I wanted in leftie.  I'm on my 3rd set of Mizunos now, but I'm starting to think that a switch may be coming on my next set. TM has all 3 of their new irons in leftie.
