Love to see that IPB has continued to make improvements. For all the hype around Vanilla and Discourse, there must be something about these PHP bulletin board software that manage to stand the test of time. The site seems miles faster/responsive, and just more polished overall. Great job guys!

i like it.  i use the site 80% via mobile on my iphone and this is faster than the previous version, so it gets a thumbs up from me.

We have the feedback mod purchased and reviewing installation but need to stabilize the board still. Developer said importing old feedback should be ok.

The speed is the main issue. We are reconfiguring the servers and having to add a significant upgrade to maintain speed and also allow us to turn on many features that we had to toggle off  do to the stress they added. We have a lot of traffic and the bells and whistles were overloading it. Even with those options turned off we are sluggish for signed in members. Guests can fly.

 

Working on it 24/7 as we speak.

Yes. Old feedback as well. I am not 100% so don't quote me but we should be successful. That is one of our first priorities after we stabilize the servers.

The change was instant for me. Might take up to an hour but most should be good.

The speed is not there yet. We are making significant changes as we speak to make it MUCH faster. Obviously that is $$$ but honey badger don't care.

As an aside, how the hell did you guys manage a migration out of what I am assuming was IPB to Vanilla and back again (presumably to a newer version)? They had to be unique migrations each time that required custom coding to be done no?

 

Anyway, major props to you guys. I gotta say the several days of this site being read only made me super sad, but I'm happy it's back now and seems to be better than before.

Agreed. Ex: I had ~800 likes prior to the first migration then ~350 between migrations and now show 110 post-migration. Not the end of the world in the grand scheme of forum stability though.
