Great looking shaft with an unfortunate name.

Maybe their next shaft could be named Tour AD-derall. ??

I've been able to test out the HD 6S shaft across two range sessions and compare it to the other GD shafts I have - DI, TP, and BB (I've been using the BB this year). Driver is a Titleist 915 D2 with

Would really like to hear more comparisons to the tour ad-tp

For me the HD felt more active and that it was kicking more at impact, but just as stable as TP. Launch with HD was probably a little higher and was a touch easier to turn over. TP probably spun a touch less, but I don't think it would be a huge number on a monitor.

The GD folks have probably decided that certain profiles are more fade/draw biased based. The are probably wrong.

The other picture that shows the relative stiffness of the shaft along the length is really nice though. I'm guessing the red dot is the balance point.

I mean, this has to be subjective to someone's swing right? For me, I hit nothing but fades with the IZ, and the BB and XC made it easier to draw the ball. This chart is telling me the opposite sooooo ??? LOL

Is the chart for Lefties?

The only way you can objectively attempt to categorize shafts like this is based on tip to butt ratio and lead deflection. Lead deflection is the forward bend a shaft has when approaching impact, and this coupled with the CG location of the head will also introduce a small element of face closure which *technically* can be represented as a potential left/draw bias. Shafts with a lower tip to butt ratio (assuming equivalent stiffness) will exhibit less lead deflection assuming similar delivery, which means less face closure which could again *technically* be considered less of a draw bias and more of a fade bias.

The problem with all this is that there are dozens of other factors that will quickly and significantly override this "bias" in such a way as to render this qualification moot to all but the most robotically consistent of swingers. There is also the problem with picking a shaft based on desired flight characteristics, because the flight of a ball is the result of a very complex system of moving parts, the shaft and its bend profile only being one of these and in the big picture, a relatively small player. Someone that has a hooking problem may also hate how a supposed "fade biased" shaft feels and thus be worse off with one.

Bottom line, supposed flight bias charts for shafts should 100% not exist, and anyone that has found success in picking a shaft with one has done so by accident.

Looking at the profiles on S3 right now. It's certainly a GD, but it's closer to the BB types than the DI types. Relatively soft in the butt.

this is the most productive piece of information on this thread. This is stuff that most of us don't know and don't understand. Thank you for explaining it a bit. To give my own example, the IZ for me (which is supposed to be high flight low spin) was a low flight with lots of fade (I'm sure there were swing faults there of course). The BB and XC (low flight low spin) were significantly higher flight and very straight if not baby fade or baby draw. Pretty crazy LOL

Not good at reading these.
HD is softer in the butt and stiffer in the tip vs the TP?

Nice!  Thanks for posting this.  I'm currently playing the BB 6S in my driver and was waiting to see the profile of the HD.  I'm really looking forward to this shaft.

I was fit into the AD TP at PXG. You say the AD HD is a touch higher launch with the same kick? Wow! Money!

My AD HD 6S shaft arrived today - will get a chance to hit it tomorrow.  I'll post my thoughts afterwards.  Just from waggles and practice swings it feels a touch softer to me than the AD BB and DI.
