Has anyone tried adidas Code Chaos Boa? / Other Boa shoes

I own a couple of the boas, one in adidas and the other in the Puma's. For me the experience is awesome not having to unlace my shoes or have to tie them up. Not sure if you have ever snowboarded but it is similar to having to strap your boots in versus clicking them in. I like them and I think If I had the chance to have boas on all my shoes, I would.

I had some FJ Freestyle 2 w BOA; honestly I wasn’t impressed.  Laces are fine for me.

I have a pair of adidas 360 and love them, and BOA stands behind the system.  I had one bust due to my error, no questions ask they sent a replacement lacing system in a weeks time.

I love BOA(have a pair of Ecco and puma) and I really like my CodeChaos. Very much dislike the CodeChaos hi top BOA and wished they would introduce the low top BOA available in Asia stateside.

BOA is my go-to for golf shoes, especially since it’s muddy for 1/2 the year where I play. The laces can’t get dirty and they are a lot more convenient to get in and out of. Comfort is better with BOA on leather shoes, especially around the ankle in my own experience.

Boa is the best. Now that I’m wearing Jordan golf shoes all the time, it is what I miss most from my other golf shoes. I almost look forward to bad weather so I can wear my Nike VaporStorms with the boa system. 
 

It was so nice after a round to just “pop” the boa and slide the shoe off. Tying and untying is a PITA. There is a better way. Boa.

I had a pair of FJ pro SL boa's and FJ DNA boa's that were nice when I first got them, but after about 2 months the lacing system would come loose and I'd have to constantly tighten them throughout the round (sometimes multiple times per hole), so I went back to the old tried and true laces.

Do any of you get hot spots from the boa wiring? My old snowboard boots had boa but I would get some hot spots throughout the day, so I switched back to laces with my next pair of boots and haven't tried boa again since.

I have multiple pairs with BOA, they are great. My kid even loves her BOA shoes, she hates laced shoes.

I've found that it varies from shoe to shoe.  I've definitely noticed that my FootJoy shoes with the dial on the heel need to be adjusted much more frequently than my Adidas shoes with the dial on the side and I've had a couple pair of each.  I don't own any with the dial on the top.

Not a fan of the BOA as I like to have the toe box of my shoe tighter than the heel area. I've went back to laces as the BOA really only works for an even fit, or possibly a little tighter fit in the heel area, which is the opposite of my preference. YMMV.

I'll will never go back to traditional laces in golf shoes.  BOA or nothing.  I'm one of those lucky people that the BOA structure fits my foot.

I am a cyclist and have been using a BOA closure for years. It's awesome and very durable. I own one pair of Eccos with the system and they are great. I don't think it does much to alter the comfort of the shoe. Meaning, if the shoe fits, that probably more has to do with the last of the shoe and how your foot fits in that last than because of the BOA closure.

Don't like BOA's, I can't change the fit/feel like I can with laces.

The box these come in say they are waterproof but their website doesn't say so.  Can you speak to this?  I tried some on yesterday and liked them.

I like the BOA but no big deal if the shoes I like are laces.

 

One thing about the BOA with the dial on the back of the shoe (Footjoys only ?).

 

Too awkward to get to them easily. I would get cramps in my hands and arms, maybe even my shoulders, from trying to tighten them before a round.  I kid you not.

 

BOA on top or on the side, great. On the back ? Nope.

I have been a BOA user for many years.  My snowboard boots for the past 15 years have been nothing but with the BOA lacing system.  My current boots have 2 separate BOA lacing zones. I have had them on trail shoes as well as golf.  

I find them to have very even pressure across the foot with no hot points because of the even lace pressure across the tongue of the shoe, no matter the use.

 

I will say the only initial issue I had encountered was with using the back disk FJ shoes. Crouching to read puts with a FJ shoe, sometimes I feel the disk but I have gotten use to that.  Not a deal breaker.

 

I had one breakage problem in a hiking shoe and the problem was taken care of through customer service.

They have a 1 year waterproof warranty.  I've worn them in wet conditions and they are indeed "waterproof", at least as far as golf shoes go.

Just got the same... previously had the laced versions- excellent and the boa works fine.

 

Tried the new Spikeless models and while very comfortable the knitted upper is too flexible... and a ‘mare to keep clean.

 

Back to the Gel course...

I have some Ecco cage pro with boa and love them. I’ll either get boa again or go with True Linkswear for my next pair of shoes.

I love the BOA system

 

Got a few pairs of Adidas Powerband Boost BOA. Zero problems. The fit is amazing, much better than lace and so easy in and out of these shoes. Plus, its easier to keep the shoes in shape by snapping back the BOA and tightening it up when it's in the bag. Very easy to clean too, no more "wet laces"

 

Also picked up the Puma Ignite Powedisc BOA. A more summer shoe. very comfortable. However, I much prefer the Adidas version of the BOA. Puma is kinda funky.

 

I think the Puma is like a year or 2 old while all my Adidas has had a few years now. Some show heel interior wear but other than that, everything else is still good and solid.
