How is that 5 wood playing for you? Real bummer they dont have a 3HL or a 4 wood as it is a low-spin monster

I’m really enjoying it. Tested the 3 wood and it just went to far. I prefer seeing an open face at address so I would have gone this route anyway. Has a 3 wood length shaft and so I still carry it 265-270.

Nice! 3 wood just does not spin enough for me and 5 wood is a little higher and shorter than I like. Might give 5 wood another try and turn the loft down

Season is over now here in Canada so thought I’d put together a wish list for the off season! 

 

Driver- Taylormade M5 10.5* set at 10* Project X Hzrdus smoke black 70g 6.0 tipped 1.5 inch Golf Pride Z-cord standard +3 wraps

Best driver I’ve ever gamed. Tried everything out there last year including SIM with Ventus black 6x but couldn’t be the combination of distance and accuracy. The SIM combo was 10 yards longer however. If I could keep the accuracy of my M5 with the distance of the SIM that would be a game changer. I tried g410lst with Hzrdus Green 70TX for a bit and found it slightly better performance wise then my current M5 setup but couldn’t hit the chippy cut fairway finder with it (had to go hard at it all the time). 

So... G425lst with Accra TZP proto 265 M5 tipped 1.5 inches on the way hoping it’s the magic stick.

Favourite club in the bag. I carry it 265ish and get about 275-280 total out of it off the tee. I’ve fooled around with different shafts since I got it (have my trusty Atmos 7x as backup) but finally settled wth this combo and it’s been unreal. I get a really unique high launch low spin flight out of this but can still hit a variety of shots with it.The confidence I have in this club has transformed my fairway wood play from a weakness to something I rely on off tees and get to long par 5’s in two. It’s a tour issue head measured at 18.7 degrees, set at 16.7*, sits 2.7* open. First wood I haven’t had to hotmelt because it sounds so good.

This one has a interesting story. I had the 2017 head with tensei pro white 90tx and it was a unicorn till I cracked the tip. Taylormade sent me this to replace it but they couldn’t replace my shaft for some reason (never got an actual answer from them). It’s not bad as is, but the flight is significantly higher then I would like out of this club. Nippon modus Gost X flex ordered, hopefully it’s as good as the reviews say. 

 

4-6 iron- Ping Iblade KBS C taper 130X + 1/2 inch blue dot Golf Pride MCC align standard +3 wraps and  7-W- Ping Blueprint KBS C taper 130X +1/2 inch blue dot Golf Pride MCC align standard +3 wraps

I love everything about these irons. Been in the bag for a couple months now and have been excellent. Ping really knocked it out of the park with the Blueprint.  I don’t see anything replacing these in the near future. 

 

Wedges- Ping Glide Stealth 2.0 50*, Ping Glide Forged 54* at 55* and 58* at 60*, KBS tour 130X, Ping Dyla wedge grip midsize (gold)

These are up for replacement over the offseason. Not sure if I’m going to stick with the same setup or change it up yet. Have a tour issue raw face high toe lying around that I threw a s400 black onyx in to test and it’s been impressive. Considering ordering mg2s to complement it. 

 

Putters-

Ping PLD Anser 2 matte raw 35 inch

Tour issue Spider Tour Red 34.5 inch

Just received my PLD Prime Tyne a week ago and it’s everything I hoped for. I’ve historically struggled with putting but the past year finally dedicated more time and it’s improved significantly. I prefer a more responsive feel so I tend to dislike inserts. My spider tour is configured for slower greens currently with 3.5* loft. I also have the 80/20 insert in it instead of the stock black surlyn one. 

 

I also have a G425 hybrid with Ventus blue 9X on order to swap with my UDI for longer courses with more 240-250 fairway shots or thicker rough.

Great set up! Have you found it pretty easy to transition visually between the iBlades in the long irons and the blueprints in the short irons?

Visually I’d saw the biggest difference is the blade length. Compared to all the other MB’s currently on the market the blueprint blade length is visibly shorter. I don’t think many people appreciate how small the blueprint really is. Top line compared to iblade isn’t super noticeable because of the finish. I think the iblade proportionally is very similar to blueprint which while noticeably larger makes the transition work.

Great set, dude.  Enjoy these years and get in as much playing as you can before family life/career/etc. take precedence.
