Favorite Half Zip for Golf

What is everyone's favorite Half Zip pullover for golf? 

 

 

I just got a patagonia one but wanted to see what others are using.

Depends on the weather. I have about a dozen+ of them.  Like them all.  Ones that stand out are the Ping Merino and the UA 1/4 zip with snaps instead of a zipper.

I've always been partial to Zero Restriction.  They are designed for golf so features work well.  Pockets in correct locations, good fit while swinging, etc.

I agree that it depends on the weather.  For milder conditions, I am also partial to the Peter Millar Perth.  When it is cold and windy, I reach for the FJ lined 1/4 zip sweater.

Lululemon surge warm 1/2 zip....like everything else they make, I can't find anything close to it in fit and quality.

Sunice Allendale.  These stretch in all the right places as to not encumber the swing but are very warm in most conditions.

I don’t like the Perth from Millar because I don’t like the elastic at the bottom. On any quarter zips for that matter...

Have a bunch of Nike Golf half and quarter zips, but I always migrated back to my Adidas Supernova Storm 1/4 zip. But for some reason I can’t find it in my house!
 

also the Old Navy Ultra-soft Breathe tops are nice too, for the price.

This, by a landslide. I’m amazed how warm it is for being so “non-bulky“ and easy to move in.

Is there a difference between a 1/2 and 1/4 zip?  I call them all 1/4 zips.

I have a few Spyder sweaters that have a really deep zipper ... so it seems like the length of the zipper makes it a 1/4 vs 1/2 zip.

I have a medium thickness FJ one I like (don't know the name), and just about anything UA makes.  UA makes a great 1/4 zip.

From the lanky guy point of view.....half my quarter zips are from athletic brands, half are from golf brands. I tend to wear the athletic ones more frequently when golfing. Why? They fit how I like them. I prefer a trimmer fit in a stretchy material than a roomier fit. I find that the golf brands (and sometimes non-golf specific, like Adidas) cut their pullovers a little looser. I guess that is so it doesn't interfere with the swing, but I personally hate seeing and feeling that extra material wiggling around.

For anyone wanting to put a brand with my comments...for playability I like my Rhone, Vuori, and New Balance half zips better than the Peter Millar, Polo/RLX, and Nike Golf.

That’s my interpretation too...but really the style affectively is the same. Depending on the manufacturer a half-zip could be considered a 1/4 zip. I’ve seen some that have an even shorter zipper...

RLX makes an incredible layering piece. Perfect for fall and spring golf, as well wearing to the office.
